Throw your life away. Take all that time you enjoy spending with friends and family and give it up to linux. The learning curve for using vim and the curve for leaning how to do most of the important shit on linux is about the same.

gvim ive used and was fine. You could set up a linux mint VM and see how you like it. A lot of linux tools are built with linux shortcuts and it can make you very efficient

choco install -y vim
gvim. Supports 256 colors and is a perfect implementation. Disable the gui in your vimrc if you're sane
