Evil mode.
learning is bloat for your mind
it's bloat only if you add unnecesary things to it
Its base is the same size as vim, and uses that space far better.
It's not bloat, unix is the bloat.
i would use emacs but i can't stand the fact it doesn't indent c enums properly in the default gnu style in cc-mode. it has never indented c enums properly using their own formatting style, in spite of constant mentions on the mailing list, which is unnacceptly lazy.
best thing to do is to switch it to bsd mode
Just use VIM.
i actually like the gnu style and even use it in vim. i've tried fixing emacs' formatting problem in regard to enums but the system for defining syntax is janky as hell. something about not considering enums the same way it does structs and unions or something? i read about it on the mailing list some time ago and can't remember the reason the devs were giving everyone.
Emacs is easier than vim and has more useful utilities imo so just use it faggot
This. Use what works for you, not someone else. Also fpbp.
IT'S BEEN FIXED I WAS WRONG I CAN USE EMACS NOW

Compared with what? With VSCode? With original vi?
Isn't evil mode just for vim users who want to say they are emacs users?
Vim keybindings are far superior to Emacs'

source control is bloat

it's 5 letters long while vim is only 3 and vi is only 2. bloat by definition.
Just use vis.

Your post doesn't make much sense. Evil-mode users are by definition emacs users, since evil-mode is by definition only usable from within emacs.
And nano keybinds are much superior to Vim's keybinds.
Emacs and Nano keybindings aren't too far from each other.
