What are some pros and cons of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB? It's apparently a w10 version without bloatware and spyware, is it worth switching to that version? I have regular Windows 10 Pro right now.

I heard some drivers might not work , if that is true might be a deal breaker.

>pros

the shit metro interface
>and spyware
all versions of windows are spyware
>is it worth switching to that version?
still better than normal 10

It's not true, everything works

LTSB/LTSC are the only borderline acceptable versions of 10 you should be using if you must use Windows. Debloated and most of the adware is removed but it's still spyware botnet shit no matter what "privacy" settings you use. You could run Anti-Beacon to further lock it down from MS botnettery but there's still no guarantee.

How does regular Enterprise differ from the LTSB/C version?

ltsc has 10 years of support, lacks the candy crush shit and only receives security updates instead of the """feature""" updates that delete your tranny porn

Enterprise still has crap like Cortana installed

LTSC still has Cortana. Only the UI is hidden.

Source: my ass

Just about to upgrade to windows 10 for the first time, which cancer should I choose? from this thread LTSB looks pretty nice.

Can I choose what updates to receive on LTSB if new, important ones come out?

Seems to me the memory management is considerably better on LTSC than win 7 pro. I was using win 7 for years.
Some things seem snappier. Talking of snappier I like win 10 edge snapping implementation, where it shows you thumbnails of open windows to fill the other side.
DPI scaling can be done without logging out, useful for me using a 4k tv.
HDR stuff is more fleshed out on WIn 10.

continuing on (I am this poster) i just found this:

any Jow Forumsentleman have experience with this project?

Ltsb 2016. you can turn off updates you can't choose individual updates but the only updates you get are security

going to be throwing this on a drive this weekend.
I'll report back when I see what happens.
I'm also running win 8.1 enterprise as well.
I like that except for a couple little things I haven't figured out yet.

Redpill me on LTSB 2018. Whats wrong with it?

>it's the same shit as win7 without the sick meme appz
not even close

im gonna be throwing it on my main drive in a few hours- jumping right in

wish me luck lmao

looks like it has potential, if you are good at wireshark, I'm sure that will tell you a lot.

so how's windows 10? It's been like 3 years now hasn't it?

Windows 10 AME seems to be better than LTSB.

>Windows 10 AME

wait I can DL here for free? No piratebay needed?

its good but not as a daily
ltsc is more of a reasonable decision

yes, you know you dont need pirate bay for any other version either...? microsoft literally gives them away free on their site as "evaluation copies" and you can use them for 90 days then activate them with KMS

This
Look at the running processes and you will either see Cortana or Search active all the time. Cortana "new" features are removed or hidden, but the app still spies on you.

Shame AME actually uses Pro for its base. This renders Windows very crippled compared to LTSC and there is more to be removed. Also it's retarded AME feels like you ripped an image of an already installed system instead of actually configuring one, which in return makes Windows feel utter shit. Always mininal version if you want to try it.

>cons of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB?
It's outdated

>cons of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC?
You can only pirate it

>pros of Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC?
It's only good version of Windows 10

downloadable from microsoft site free nigger.
check the dubs here.
microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-10-enterprise
just hit the radio button that says LTSC instead of Enterprise

Evaluation editions cannot be activated nigger

Gonna test it on a VM in a bit.

Jow Forums lost credibility over any and all spyware/botnet accusations as soon as Jow Forums started accusing f.lux of being a botnet

My asshole is pierced too ^^

Got the minimal version running in my VM

Retarded fanbase

I almost failed a discipline because of Windows 10's forced updates and downgraded to 7 the following day. I considered taking the leap to Linux desktop, but since open source became cucked and I don't care enough to jump through all the hoops I would be forced to.

Last month I made a homebrew image of LTSC following the instructions on mydigitallife, and used s1ave77's activator on a virtual machine. Installed VSCode on the VM and I've it been using for development since. I'll definitely be using LTSC as soon as I buy a SSD.

The only con is that Windows 10 on a VM uses a bit too much memory and processing power for my i5-2500k and 20 GB RAM system, forcing me to micromanage resource usage at times. Funny how 20 GB seemed endless back when I was just a waste of oxygen playing video games.

Can you point me in the direction of the MDL thread for LTSC?

So, what's the catch?

I read that it's no problem to """hack""" a elevated user into it, but will it cause problems with programs that auto update as they may use some of the removed functions?

>Windows 10's forced updates

It doesn't mention LTSC in the title but it's included in the tool. Follow the guide and follow the instructions for 1809 LTSC Oct Refresh [17763.107].
It will download the evaluation image from Microsoft and patch it so you can activate.

After that you have to use an activator i.e. KMS38

>sends telemetry data on user prefrences

nice ip mate.

I'm running the heavily ameliorated version with as much shit removed from it as possible. It has a Win7 feel to it in how it works, but needs a bit of tweaking to get rid of that "someone else set this up" feel. One big thing though, I'm a classic theme user and Win10 is utter dog shit and windows from this to that are inconsistent feeling. Sometimes it is hard distinguishing different windows when everything is all weirdly mashed together when you have a few open. It is hard to describe. That seems to be a Win10 issue from regular screenshots I've seen.

You should try Tiny7. It is a stripped down version of Win7 that can run on just about anything with almost no ram needed.
archive.org/download/Tiny7

It is like tailor made for slow PCs and VM tinkerings. If there's something that isn't installed you can install it yourself obviously. Also, if you want to make your own stripped down version of Win7 to Win10 you can use AIK or ADK, just scroll down for older Win versions, (Get Win7's AIK before they remove it!!!)
docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/get-started/adk-install

>He thinks that's enough

Fine, faggots. I'll give you a hint on how to really disable windows updates since I'm quite sure they won't break this and I've never seen this being talked about anywhere.
Change your fucking update location in group policy to point to a non-existant WSUS. There is also an option there to ONLY use the WSUS you configured, since, by default, it will also query microsoft along with it.

There, windows updates completely stopped.
If you can't figure out where those settings are, forced updates were made for you.

None of this shit actually does anything. You will get creator updates forced on you, eventually. The first option is also purely an Enterprise option. Back to the shitting street pajeet.

The only way to prevent Win 10 updates is to completely block the update service through other software which in turn may break something else in process.

how is it any better than ?

Fucker I JUST posted how to disable updates without third party software. For fucks sake you windows users really deny help even if it's free.

>You will get creator updates forced on you, eventually.
Well. It's been over a year and I'm still waiting on mine. Apparently you know better because you found out about this trick 5 minutes ago.

Depends on the LTSB release. They don't get new features so old ones don't have shit like the new storage spaces.

>You will get creator updates forced on you
Either you have no idea what creator update is or you are genuinely shilling for using sub 1703 windows in 2019.
One or the other. You're incompetent and your words shouldn't be taken seriously ever.

One rupee has been deposited to your account, sirs.

implying you'll make your One rupee on ads by shilling /o/

LTSB chads, RISE UP!

Attached: ltsb.png (745x622, 35K)

On LTSB you only get security patches, no features updates what so ever. (and that's a good thing)

With Powershell scripts for Windows 10 Pro there is no need for a home user to have Enterprise LTSB. It is just autism with no benefit.

I'm teting out AME in a VM. Anyone know why it states that I have no internet connection, yet I actually do? Perhaps it has to do with all the anti-telemetry stuff and removal of telemetry and all that shit listed below? Here's a screenshot (see red arrow) and I'm posting from in the VM to this thread with it.

>no Jow Forums-x on k-meleon
>no non-javascript recaptcha

Oh my fucking god I didn't realize how bad recaptcha is now. $%&$%^*$^&*

From that site,

>Highlights:
>Major deletion of hundreds of executable scattered throughout the system, which gather telemetry data, including the complete removal of Windows Update (universal backdoor)
>Extensive group policy and registry modifications to further remove telemetry operations, and modify certain system behaviors to be more sensible
>For good measure a massive fail-safe culmination of the various IPs and domains has been added to the hosts file, to further ensure no Windows telemetry leaves the system
>Removed all apps (apx) including Cortana, Windows Store, Edge, Mail, Xbox etc.
>Installed sensible open-source application replacements via the chocolatey package manager: Classic-Shell, Firefox, Thunderbird, OnlyOffice, VLC
>dotNET 3.5 is installed
>all VC redists are installed
>Hardentools from SecurityWithoutBorders has been installed
>The default user has been removed from the Administrator group

Seems like this,

>>For good measure a massive fail-safe culmination of the various IPs and domains has been added to the hosts file, to further ensure no Windows telemetry leaves the system

In AME does that?

Attached: Untitled.png (1920x1080, 623K)

Not even close to being similar
Google WSUS

>Anyone know why it states that I have no internet connection, yet I actually do?
I think it's just a VM thing

Attached: 1532636892787.jpg (1200x899, 153K)

This is what the non-minimal version has on a fresh install. Might get wireshark open to see if there's anything fishy.

K

Funny thing. From inside that VM'd windows 10 I installed VirtualBox. Then made a Tiny7 VM (Win7) to play around in. (a VM inside another VM) The double VM'd Tiny7 says there's an internet connection and can use it.

It completely removes all WSUS too.

He's VMing the AME version which is pre-setup with a shit ton of stuff removed that normally botnets you then replaces some of it with free versions so you can use them to get online or unzip something if needed. You can still use your own shit.

That's what comes preloaded with AME, the minimal version doesn't have this.

Attached: Win10_AME.png (1920x1257, 640K)

BLOAT

Imaging actually signing up for a botnet for free to avoid another botnet

Attached: 1543836619672.jpg (558x564, 25K)

Then use the other version.

>t. Microsoft rep

The internet is full of tools to check for that sort of thing. I'm sure you can find at least one. Some have been mentioned ITT already.

Attached: Win10_AME_minimal.png (1920x1158, 555K)

>says the guy posting on the basket weaving forum using Google ReCaptcha

Attached: 1550874819681a.webm (498x280, 477K)

You can never guarantee any tool will be able to pick it up once you allow it to be installed with the OS. The idea that you can't trust Microsoft but can trust a bunch of pajeets who do it for free is hilarious.

I don't care about botnets myself, just find it hilarious a bunch of Redditors are supposedly avoiding a botnet while installing a much more dangerous botnet.

>I think it's just a VM thing
The AME FAQ says some stuff that makes me think it is an AME thing, not a VM thing: ameliorated.info/faq.html#data_collection

The more I read about Win10 the more I hate Microsoft in general.

Christ dude, everyone here is using a fucking VM to do this. Do you even know what that means?

>everyone here is using a fucking VM to do this

Yeah, everyone who fell for the AME meme to replace Windows 10 Pro is using a VM to run it as their daily OS. Are you retarded?

BIG THONK

Attached: ip.png (1024x1024, 138K)

So, you have no clue at all how to check for botnet shit using a VM. I think we found the normie.

Attached: sekret.png (868x319, 73K)

Which is that for?

AME. No clue what that IP address is.

No you are a complete dumbass if you think a retard like yourself are capable of detecting every single potential vector using "muh VMs" of a system that is designed to hide itself.

Seems like it's for duckduckgo
lookip.net/ip/46.51.179.90

Yeah, I'm just finding amazon/DDG stuff. The Firefox browser in AME uses DDG instead of Google Search.

Attached: ddg.png (1158x928, 100K)

Attached: Triple Brainlet.png (604x704, 95K)

Not really finding anything particularly botnet on the minimal version. Gonna throw a copy on my streaming rig and see how it goes.
