notice how following the change to a rapid release schedule the "LOC" and "Defect Density" begin skyrocketing? shitty programmers have a (naturally) shitty strategy of piling shit on top of shit fast enough to hide all the shit before anyone can see just how shitty their work really is. whenever their shitty code is criticized they say, "well that's all new shit, you can't expect it to be good right off the bat!" and then proceed to bury the shit in more new shit ad infinitum. any company that hires too many bad programmers will in time change to a rolling/rapid release schedule.
