Write once, hide in a drawer somewhere. Backups are a good thing, can never have to many. Specially such small factor is awesome for stealthy purposes.

I can have several disposable backups of everything important. Flash memory like that tends to fail so I can have 3 of them in a safety deposit box, taking them out to be updated once a year

I can never get the answer to this from anyone. Does it really fail if you write once and set aside for say... five years? Does it suffer from bit rot that much?

Its a probability thing. All of your flash drives may survive with no noticable loss of data. Or maybe they will all fail. Realistically they should be alright, I just wouldn’t trust a single back up with anything. 5 years is a lot of time for flash memory with no power

This, i was transporting 300gb of files back and forth with a 16gb usb stick a shitton of times until i found out about syncthing. Now i do it with external sata to usb adapter and just set up syncthing afterwards

USB sticks are painfully slow for moving large files so it's not worth getting them in large capacities
get a portable hard drive or ssd
