jesus fucking christ
they really dropped the ball there

Off yourself

imagine being a retarded frognigger

>speakers are amazing and thinkpads come nowehere near them
Chinks have given up on ThinkPads. They've been shit for close to 5 years. The build quality of new Thinkpads is total shit.

How retarded do you have to be to look up how to install an app on mac

Attached: 9D34FA85-E932-4974-BCC8-5174AFCC7E51.jpg (216x200, 11K)

Are you actually retarded or just baiting?

I am complaining, but do tell me why am I retarded
I expected linux experience on a macbook
It gets shit out off its repositores
do you have to go on websites and download .apk for iphones
why the fuck is chrome or vlc not in the app store?

I do wonder how retarded you have to be to not get the point.

Attached: applehate.jpg (803x745, 98K)

what do you say the last good gen thinkpads are

>NONE OF IT IS IN THE APPSTORE!
ok but you can install apps from outside the mac app store.
also, the way macos handles application installation is miles ahead of windows. that's literally one of the only selling points.

of all the things you could've complained about in macos, you chose that?

>I am complaining, but do tell me why am I retarded
YOU HAD TO LOOK UP HOW TO INSTALL CHROME ON A MACBOOK

Attached: laughing at you.gif (480x270, 1.77M)

apple products are literally designed for nearly-brain-dead retards and you STILL had a hard time

kys

>go have a look at instruction on how to install chrome on macOS
lol

sure I can install them outside but it feels like dropped ball
like seriously tell me you would not complain if iphone would install apps by you googling out application
while android would have play store...

Am I really that out of line to expect good repository of apps on macbooks?
I am not expecting AUR, just ubuntu level...

are you guys pretending to be retarded?
No other apps installs like it
No other OS istall applications like that
for some reason one of the steps is you manually dragging some shit somewhere
so yeah I googled it out because no one else does it like that.
you run installation as admin it places stuff where it needs it

but by all means focus on the fact that I googled that out and not on these instructions from install page and the inability of apple to have normal app store lol
Install Chrome on Mac

xx20 or xx30 with xx20 keyboard swap.

>normal app store lol

>sure I can install them outside but it feels like dropped ball
user...it's been like that for decades, since way before the Mac App Store was even introduced.
>like seriously tell me you would not complain if iphone would install apps by you googling out application while android would have play store...
Nigger, that's how desktop operating systems work. Just like how no one uses the Windows app store (but instead they just install programs from outside the app store), the same goes for macOS. That's just how desktop OSes are.

Attached: advanced shitposting.jpg (500x750, 218K)

>No other apps installs like it
>No other OS istall applications like that
Good. Installing apps on macOS is stupid easy and I wish all other OSes functioned the same way.
Just download the file and move it to the Applications folder. It's not that hard. It's better than having to deal with bloating fucking wizard installers or use terminals.

>Jow Forums - Technology

Everyone willing to post ITT needs to see this post first.
It is mandatory.

>it's been like that for decades
well as I said
my first experience with macbooks

I think it did install something or had some wizzard... I think the drag part is maybe just like .desktop file on linux? To just have launcher somewhere. But maybe you right and its single file app dragged somewhere

please never set foot near an electronic device again.

off yourself weaboo
trains and tall buildings have highest success rate

>first time using a macbook
>"why isn't this like everything else I've ever used? this sucks!"

actually the opposite
I was expecting apple having their shit together when compared to windows
I mean people do celebrate the fact that shit just works

>download file
>move file to appropriate folder
>there's literally a dedicated window to help you do it
>still couldn't really figure it out
you cannot by saved

- wizards are cool
- linux terminal commands are a-ok
- but downloading the program directly to the drive? nah that's too much

>why the fuck is chrome or vlc not in the app store?

Google update Chrome whenever the fuck they want, they don't want to rely on putting every update through Apple's app review process.
As for VLC, many open source advocates have said the App Store is not compatible with the GPL.

remember to sage your posts so that this shit thread can die faster

get a life?

>hey guys lol look how retarded I am
[a few posts later]

>Google update Chrome whenever the fuck they want, they don't want to rely on putting every update through Apple's app review process.

so change the process for the major trusted player
if they can manage it on iOS I dont feel like it is a goodargument on desktoip

>As for VLC, many open source advocates have said the App Store is not compatible with the GPL.
what would GPL have with policing distribution?
Also again, ios
github.com/dkhamsing/open-source-ios-apps

I am thinking that people are just used to it sucking
and only newcomers see it as huge dropped ball

>>go have a look at instruction on how to install chrome on macOS, it is hilarious with dragging icon in to the app directory and shit
i haven't used a mac since 2011 but i always enjoyed that way of installing shit vs the classic windows wizard thing. it's just one click

Attached: xdmgfile-install.png.pagespeed.gp+jp+jw+pj+ws+js+rj+rp+rw+ri+cp+md.ic.p7tCgAwcq3.png (650x408, 414K)

I never thought these levels of stupidity were possible

>if they can manage it on iOS I dont feel like it is a goodargument on desktoip
it's because on iOS they have no choice, whereas macOS isn't completely locked down to the app store, so they don't have to play by those rules and they choose not to.
>what would GPL have with policing distribution?
it's just how VLC chooses to do things, it doesn't go further than that.
you can still download both of these programs with virtually no fuss anyway, just not from the app store. i'm not seeing what the problem is. you're being overly dramatic.

Attached: overconfident.png (350x300, 47K)

>you - they cant do it
>me - yes they can look at the ios
>you - ok, they can, but it is because they have no choice

so they can do it, the rules you are talking about are their own so fuck right off with some talk about playing by rules

The point is app store for macOS could be half usable but they just dont bother
There is no technological or license hurdle
so quit being moron thinking up excuses

>Am I really that out of line to expect good repository of apps on macbooks?
>I am not expecting AUR, just ubuntu level...
You're supposed to install package manager like homebrew first

Attached: Screenshot 2019-03-31 at 15.31.27.png (965x820, 74K)

hurr durr wow this is like copying a binary on linux and executing

i don't understand why you're bitching. the binary is wrapped in a folder that appends the .app extension. it's not hard...

> >go have a look at instruction on how to install chrome on macOS, it is hilarious with dragging icon in to the app directory
But this is the intended way for the most of OS X stuff. They're zip archives and it makes install/uninstall quite easy.

Yep, easy to install but, is uninstalling as easy?
>drag .app to Trash
>go to ~/Library and find every possible folder related to the app and remove it manually.
>check /Library for the same thing

>too dumb to use a Macbook
The absolute state of Jow Forums

Attached: 1528451993953.jpg (960x756, 94K)

All iOS browsers are just safari skins so they really didn't manage it. Point is good programs aren't compatible with the app store and it's bullshit.

itunes.apple.com/us/app/firefox-private-safe-browser/id989804926

itunes.apple.com/us/app/google-chrome/id535886823

>you - they cant do it
I never said any of that. I never said they couldn't do anything.
I said they choose not to. macOS is a really old operating system and to impose mandatory App Store compliance would be dumb at this point.
Do try and keep up.

>The point is app store for macOS could be half usable but they just dont bother
The same applies to Windows but I don't see you bitching about that.

>be me
>europe

>go to ~/Library and find every possible folder related to the app and remove it manually.
That's like AppData, it's not application it self but user data and configs

Fucking moron. Why not try reading. They're safari with a skin on top. Nothing more.

Windows doesn't have an app store either. At least not the usable version (up to Win7).
Almost every time you want to install a program on macOS/OS X, it says to drag n' drop the program to the program folder in the window itself. Super self explainable if you ask me.
When i got my iMac in 2015, i didn't even need to google this. And i didn't either feel disturbed by having the choice between Apples appstore and proggs from the www.
