>formatted HDD >start installing ArchLinux >get to this point
It isn't doing anything else. There's no desktop. What the fuck is this fucking shit!? Did I just wipe all my data for this bullshit? I won't update to Win10, fuck that shiz. you linsux people are crazy in the head.
Nope. No, no nonononono, FUCK NO. I ain't doing all this shit. That's retarded. Just package it all up into one install like something normal. Like WINDOWS.

Robert Walker
Alright stupid find a computer you didn't fuck up download Ubuntu write the iso the same exact way you did arch and then boot that then slap whoever recommended a total Linux noob start with arch cause I would love to
Anthony Watson
you have to be 18+ years old to post here.
Alexander Lopez
nice screenshots of your VM shit bait thread.
Alexander Watson
OP here.
This sucks. WTF is wrong with the people who make this shit?
Yes, but it is on a shitty Toshiba monitor that borks all fonts to hell and weird settings need to be used to unbork it. It probably looks like 2x shit on a normal monitor in screenshots like that. I can barely read console shit.
I already have ubuntuGNOME. I don't need another bun.
Jordan Phillips
The Apple Macbook Pro with Retina Display doesn't have this problem.
>read the instructions I'm doing this like a man, god damn it!
I've been documenting what I'm using and I'm this far waiting for shit to install. I was going to use code to show what i'm doing in the post but, "Error: Our system thinks your post is spam. Please reformat and try again." so fuck it.
No that user, but it is a well known fact that anime is for pedos. It has to do with being attracted to neoteny. If you are a child you merely related to it, but if you are an adult it is a whole other can of worms.
>And you are not supposed to install it, without modifying it anyway.
Who makes weird shit like that? That's like ordering pepperoni pizza and having it come with the cheese on the bottom and you need to rearrange it yourself.
Andrew Reyes
just Manjaro then, you retard.
Joseph Price
I love how there's like 30 recommendations ITT for oddly named shit.
>you should have installed OPENazz_GNU/Linux faggot
I see the difference. Yours is a bit thicker and has fuzziness to it. Mine is stripped down to be pixel perfect with no fading sides. The screen I'm using makes mine look fuzzier though.
You should only install Arch if you understand what it tries to accomplish, have a basic understanding of the cli, read the documentation and most importantly if you like the idea of Arch.
You should just choose a distro that fits your needs, don't listen to the people on Jow Forums telling you otherwise. Considering you seem to be new to Linux you might want to pick a decent, well supported distro that works out of the box. I think Ubuntu might be a nice distro to install for you. Just don't listen to the people that tell you Ubuntu is for plebs, it's fine for what it does.

It tries to be a linux for plebs.
that's the entire fucking appeal
deb is so much better then buntu. i fucking love deb. i might even try devuan some day once they get themselves unhacked by the mysytious hacker named Jow Forums
Luke Butler
debian net iso doesnt have this problem
Elijah Allen
And you're the reason I said to not listen to Jow Forums. Debian is a good distro and I use it a lot. However, it's not the best choice for every usecase and you seem to have missed my point.
OP seems to be a newbie so a distro aimed at plebs is fine. Don't forget that Ubuntu works for both plebs and powerusers. Yes you need a certain level of skill to use some distros, but you don't outgrow the capabilities of a distro. If you get good at using Linux you might use some other distros for different usecases or because a distro fits your preference better.
I could create my own distro with LFS right now but I have no reason to since there are dozens of distros that can achieve everything I'd want right now. Even Ubuntu can, I just prefer Arch.
Carter Bennett
Holy shit, could they have made it larger perhaps?
