>IDE

Her code literally looks fine. First time I've seen WOMANZ code that wasn't hello world.

Yeah from the comment I expected Karly-tier shit but it looks...normal.

Any time I see a person with colored hair, I know its time to cross the street.

Isn't this what desktop threads are?

Using idx as a key is bad practice but that's nitpicking tier shit.

How do people post pictures of their life to social media? Every time I try to post something I take a picture, then 20 seconds later, before I've even posted it, I think "what I'm doing is incredibly boring" and never post it.

I finally posted something for the first time in months: a turkey melt at a diner, and a bunch of people liked it. I DON'T GET IT!

Still has to ruin it with the thot attitude.
>oh no, I only wanted to get pats on the back for how pretty I am, I never allowed you to do anything else?!

I am as white as the default color in Acme, yes.

I wish. I've got actual work to do. The diversity hires get to do all that "fun" stuff.
Which is good, because of they start trying to write code my workload doubles.

judging from her response, it may not even be hers. it's just for the image.

fuck off jeff atwood

She has no idea what she is doing, and judging by your reaction neither do you.

is this a boy or a girl?

girl(boy)

Oh might just be a copy paste. Can someone Google the code then? Maybe it's from a tutorial site.

>span element
>hey, I'm actually a label, btw.
I guess people stopped caring about the semantic web a long, longass time ago

Attached: z07184020.gif (300x180, 66K)

Whoever wrote the tutorial is a fucking idiot then.

It's better than using outside of a form. But still pretty dumb considering she's outputting a list.

dogsList should be it's own class but other than that theres not much to critique there anyway

>Muh wrong tags
Jesus Christ, fine. Yeah the tags are a poor choice. Who cares when you can just change the css rules anyways? Many tags are redundant or recreatable from other tags with just a few css additions.

>*tips fedora*

amen, /b/rother

is it worth switching from sam?

Search engine crawlers care retard.

People never cared.
Ever.

This is Jow Forums. You know it's time to cross the street when you see a woman regardless of hair color.

why would I care about that?

If it's a big tech web page, they do it on purpose. It's obfuscation. If it's a government website then it's genuine incompetence and good luck lmfao.

>Hi, welcome to my tutorial today I'm gonna teach you what not to do when programming top 10 tips and tricks to program better and avoid basic errors. Remember to smash that like button and share on PornHub

I shouldn't be so abrasive, but seriously, if you output data semantically it's much easier to deal with generically from an SEO perspective, and from the perspective of any other function or program that might take that data as input. Or any kind of reader for the vision impaired. There are lots of other advantages to using proper semantics. Like not having to format your list using tags and just removing the list styling and a tag. You just make more work for yourself doing it the wrong way.

There aren't even that many HTML tags.
developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element

the code is literally an example of classes, this was taught, this exact dog crap was taught my first week of college

Its web dev, its barely a step up from hello world

damn Jeff Atwood posts on Jow Forums?!
and from an iDevice no less?!

nah i just saw the pic somewhere random

hi Jeff :)

meant for
No they don't, semantics are important even to large take companies because it helps them work with their own data; if the data is exposed publicly there is zero need for obfuscation, if it isn't exposed publicly having your data in a semantic format helps you work with it. Anytime you see shit like this it was done by someone who doesn't understand why semantics are important.

Even if you don't let bots onto your site it's still important to have your data in a semantic format so it can be easily read by humans and machines that need to work with that data. Moreover using the right tags means you get the advantages of browser default CSS styling, which means you do less work at the end of the day.

Name: Butch

This would be the proper way to format a list of dogs and their properties in HTML.

I shouldn't do this after no sleep

she knows how to take a screenshot to show the point of interest (the theme) instead of a superpretentious photo like some of the repliers

I care quite a bit about accessibility so the non-autistic critique (about other things than variable names) being responded to by some long tirade about unwanted advice when posting code sits a bit wrong with me

Attached: photo.jpg (620x747, 125K)

I think you mean

{% for key, name in dogs %}

Name: {{name}}

{% endfor %}

niggers should use dark theme with brown text then.

Wouldn't this print every dog in a single list?
You should still have each dog as an enclosed in a , sections identify thematic content, articles identify individual pieces of content.

{% for key1, dog in dogs %}

{% for key2, property in dog %}

property.label {{property.value}}

{% endfor %}

{% endfor %}

I forgot some brackets here but you get the idea.

I'd unironically choose a shitty recursive function, sieve of Eratosthenes or fizzbuzz to show off my colorscheme
I don't see what's wrong with this tweet also she can dress however the fuck she wants, code quality is what matter.

Settle down beavis

do you retards seriously don't know about definition lists? you know... good old dt, dd tags?

Attached: 1465422803890.jpg (328x277, 11K)

This isn't a definition list, we aren't describing terms.

I'd use 5 nested for loops for mine.

Typical roastie. Has nothing original to say and nothing of interest to contribute. Instead gotta post a selfie.

Ugh.

I use pywal, and always match my terminal colours and background with whatever I'm wearing.

I guess I should have been clear, I'm not a web developer, nor do I have any interest in it beyond what is necessary to maintain my personal site.
I've heard the vision-impaired thing before, though how much of an improvement the new HTML tags will make is debatable imo. Why would a crawler care about HTML tags? Maybe all of this is irrelevant to me, I guess. I really don't care if goolag indexes my site or not. I'd prefer they didn't, I don't want to have to pay for the increased traffic.
Using to make a list sounds pants-on-head retarded, there's literally tags for the specific purpose of making lists.

I take it this is your first board destroying misogynistic screencap post using your new bot spam script, Jow Forumstard?

developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/dl
> to display metadata (a list of key-value pairs).

Stfu please.

Attached: zoomer.gif (652x562, 626K)

Go back to your BLM rally and put on your pussy hat fag.

sure dude whatever u say

Dumbass, that's not what you should be using it for because you have to insert a shitload of tags if you don't want content to all be inline. Unordered lists work much better for this purpose and leave you with cleaner markup, use description lists for actual term descriptions, not as generalized markup for key:value pairs.

"""web semantics""" is a joke

> what is css
> what is separating semantic content from presentation
Fuck right off kiddo. DLs are for keyvalue metadata. The dog data is literally keyvalue.

You don't pick a different HTML tag because it's more convenient to make it look how you want. And I know what the fuck I'm talking about because i just designed a DD/DL term list component for my company's React component library. You need at most 3 selectors to make it into a list. Add some fucking flex and it'll auto resize the number of columns and rows till it fits the contents.

So, fuck off and stop roleplaying. There's a reason I get paid 130k usd in NYC and you don't. And I'm fucking underpaid.

Attached: LinuxTouchGf.png (866x635, 236K)

it means she's lesbian, anyway

It looks like an OOP 101 example ported to React

probably the sample code from some "react for retards" tutorial site...

>130k
>designing term list component.
Sure bud, very believable that you're getting paid so much for such basic work.

Using flex there is retarded. If you're formatting data into a tabular appearance you should just use a fucking table, not flex, especially because if the line is too long in a flex row it'll fuck the appearance up drastically.

Description lists are meant for term descriptions because you can have multiple terms per description, unordered lists work perfectly fine for key:value pairs from a semantic point of view (it's still an unordered list of data) and provide cleaner markup. There's a reason you see every fucking web developer listing key:value pairs under ULs and it's because most of us found the dl format redundant for anything but describing terms.

Why is that? Is it better to use a string for keys for consistency?

Given that this is some kind of react hello world, the purpose of the code is clearly learning react. So details like this aren't relevant at this point.

True, it probably is just following a tutorial, though there is nothing wrong with that.

>lets teach people to do it wrong from the beginning

Shit tutorial.

Done arguing. Pic related. Last paycheck, biweekly.

what app is that?

Why not just use method of least squares?

You got your email client from a chinese botnet

lol that's more than I make in an entire year. What do you need all the money for? lol

where you based at?

user how the fuck do you not make $5k/yr, pretty sure you get that much from welfare.

>everyone lives in the US

user you should still make $5k USD/year
Unless you're an indian working for literal pennies.

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ninefolders.hd3

Literally one of the best email clients I've ever used and I've swapped from seven different ones.

Once you get paid that much, you too can complain about how much you get taxed. I'm maxing out my tax deferred retirement accounts.

Never fucking say that. Companies will happily pay you less. Get what you're worth and use that money to make your life easier. I plan on leaving the company at the end of the year so I get another big salary bump. But, I'm hesitant since I'm enjoying this remote job.

North New Jersey. I used to work/live in Manhattan, NYC but I got this remote job now. Which is why I'm sort of hesitant on switching companies at the end of the year since I love the whole no commute thing.

Attached: 1540120327826.jpg (720x843, 54K)

Shallow.

you should the salaries in eastern Europe...
no can beat the US at tech salaries

>Never fucking say that. Companies will happily pay you less. Get what you're worth and use that money to make your life easier. I plan on leaving the company at the end of the year so I get another big salary bump. But, I'm hesitant since I'm enjoying this remote job.

Do you think people in Europe making pennies should pursuit better salaries in other countries (US, Canada, Germany, etc) ?

If you are born in the US and are in the tech sector you already won life

Ah, didn't realize he was in Europe. I've no advice for that.

Attached: uds5uochptz11.jpg (750x409, 42K)

I get paid 98k/yr, senior front-end.

>licensed app
I'd literally rather just use gmail.

Yes, also Germany apparently doesn't pay that well either compared to US/Canada. Just move to Canada, ez entry, still get healthcare etc.

I'm a farmer in the US. I no longer have any debt and just farm most of what I need.

Also, welfare doesn't work like that anymore. It is only a 3-month thing now. I've never been on it, but know a few people. One year I made $5.4k. That was like 10 years ago. I've always been below the poverty line so I never need to pay more than property taxes for government BS. I've made like $66k in the past 20-24 years. Nearly all the money I do make just goes towards property taxes and insurances.

>Companies will happily pay you less.

I never worked for anyone else. I had my own PC repair biz, right out of high school back in the 90s, for a while then sold it and bought a farm. Now I shitpost and farm. When you don't have any debt the world changes a great deal.

>ugh men giving their unsolicited programming advice.. it's not an invitation to critique!

Why are women so god damned retarded?

Go for it. I pick Nine for the black theme, real Microsoft Exchange/ActiveSync support, not having my entire phone reset remotely by crazy IT admins, etc.

Because the only thing they have that's worth anything is their dripping cunt.

>uhg, men, fuck men am I right girls?
>uhg, women, fuck women am I right guys?
Friendo, this is just how it's been since time eternal.

desu I rarely do email on the phone anyways, if I'm out somewhere shit can wait until I get to my workstation.

That's great! I really want to just move out to rural area near some trees/mountains and just live there. I garden a bit in my fair time, but I don't want to turn to full on farming. I'm hoping to save a ton of money so I can just buy everything I need off of other farmers and live a little more comfortably. Farming/ taking care of animals takes a lot of responsibility, I think.

Reading your post just gives me hope. Which part of the US so you live in?

Oh yea, same here. I just use it for convenience / notifications for meetings.
