Certified retard here, what's so bad about Google?
It delivers to me great relevant content and if I was botnet removed it couldn't
So why the fuck would I want to leave Google behind

You can still let analytics storm your web pages, it's the browser it's selve that is somewhat debloated.

Oh I'm not super poor so I can afford a few gigs of bloat here or there

lol

Me too but that bloat wastes valuable CPU resources.

>not updated against critical exploits
lol

Where'd you get that idea?

Its not just about bloat, but the entire way that Chromium is developed is with Google's aims in mind. To this day there are certain types of filtering that are not possible in Chrome(ium) based browsers using the uBlock Origin or similar extensions, yet are possible in Firefox.

Firefox also fights for openness and is developed by a non-profit foundation, as opposed to one of the most dominant companies around that uses its weight to force "standards" that really shouldn't be. In addition, even if Chromium wasnt' deficient in certain ways (including those ungoogled or otherwisee modded), Firefox is a necessary competitor to help keep them honest

>that uses its weight to force "standards" that really shouldn't be.
Example please

Sure uh okay.. here are a couple older examples I can recall. First, the browser itself only grew in installed base because they literally bundled it with everything, Google related or not, there was a time when if you didn't uncheck the box on an installer, you're getting Chrome(ium). Not to mention their ad/search power, this was a major way they could push adoption.

Most plugins back when used NPAPI and it worked in a standardized way, back when things like Flash and whatnot were at lot more prevalent. Chromium's way of doing things was PPAPI and through throwing their weight around made it so that say, Flash plugins were unsupported/updated on Firefox on Linux, because Adobe wouldn't maintain the standard version they used to maintain, because Google made a deal to make an only-Chrome(ium) compatible version using their API of choice. Other versions of this has has taken place as well thanks to multiple 3rd party browser engines being overwritten by WebKit/Chromium because it was "easier" to just do what Google wanted (ie Vivaldi, Opera etc.. and many others used to have their own engine and be more than a Chromium based rebrand), but Firefox always stood alone because they were the only ones up to the tasks of actually developing as browser and engine - an increasingly big and expensive proposition. There's also the codec standard discussion between those that google prefers (which may be patented/licensed on their terms) versus others that are totally open.

There are lots of other examples how Google has thrown their weight around bigtime, but those are a few specifically related to standards or specific events.

>What is fingerprinting and what are supercookies
Fyi using any of the Chrom* forks like Ungoogled, Brave, or Vivaldi makes it easier for Google and Cloudflare to track you around the web than using Chrome itself.

Same applies to Icecat, Waterfox, Palemoon vs Tor/Firefox.

Also any browser on the planet will always leak your entire browsing history to mentioned companies due to fingerprinting and supercookies. Only way to stop it is Tor. Which in turn defeats the purpose of using Ungoogled over regular Chromium.

It isn't. Chrome often patches 0days (like the remote code exec couple weeks ago) without providing the patch to the public which in turn means projects that are dependant on those patches are left vulnerable until the patch is public (which can be years after the vulnerabilities have been announced or simply never)

Mozilla works with Soros, is anti-White SJW, loves refugees and donates to extreme leftist groups. Also, Cliqz, automatic updates etc.

This man is super smart.

but what about us windows users :(

Personally use Firefox because I like the sync feature and tab sharing between mobile and desktop.

You can still grab binaries or compile them yourself.

Chrome/chromium have horrible scrolling in Linux for whatever reason while on windows it is completely smooth.

Firefox has better font rendering and starting a download doesn't suddenly cut off 10% of your horizontal space.

Those are the only reasons I use it.

Are you using open source drivers?

I've tried with the open source and with the proprietary.

posting from ungoogled chromiumu

thanks, this browser is pretty slick

Xorg or wayland?

Chromium doesn't run on wayland as far as I know, it will run under Xwayland.

I just switched between x11 and wayland and jesus was X bad.

Firefox is spyware that's funded by google to spy on you.

npc.addReward(new CuckoldedFantasy());

Can i get a like?

This is absolutely untrue. For fucks' sake not only is it open source but compared to everything Chrome(ium) based it also has top notch addon support and anti-fingerprinting stuff built in and easy to enable.

In fact Firefox is less funded by Google than ever before because since their pull for Chrome, Google stopped paying them the baseline amount they used to get for including Google Search since they were now a competitor.

People get way bent out of shape. Besides, if you were worried about this Chrome(ium) and everything built upon it is built to serve Google's needs so that wouild be "worse" than Firefox.

Anyone who doesn't like certain features in Firefox (ie very reasonable telemetry etc) they can all be verified turned OFF if you want, most with a simple setting change or click. Its a lot of irrational bitching from people who are either corporate worshipping assholes or reactionary finger pointing "SJW" haters even when the claim has no merit.

Stop writing blogposts about muh diversity and meritocracy and stop installing addons without user feedback in my browser.

Based and redpilled

this
anybody who has ever tried to disable the google update program on a windows computer understands the contempt google has for its users

Mozilla is so cucked that it kicked out its founder because he wasn't enough of a raging SJW. I don't think "Firefox fights for openness".

That's a funny way to spell Vivaldi.

>This is absolutely true that Firefox is spyware.
I agree, if you install Firefox it spys on you.
