I had an iPad and it languished in a desk drawer for years because tablets are dumb, I probably still have it in my junk drawer

I don't really see the point in Tablets nowadays, I'd rather just use a phone, laptop or desktop. Maybe something like a surface could be useful, even then I don't see myself using the tablet functionality often.

The iPad seems like the only Apple product Id actually buy. The ipad mini is quite affordable and it's the perfect size for reading pdfs. I wouldn't buy any the ipad "pro" though, Apple's claim that it can replace a computer is retarded.

They'd be a hell of a lot more usable if you can open multiple instances of the same App, or mouse support could be good, could be a great little thing for remote working or gaming.

I would not buy an iPad, or anything by Apple. I hate that company's guts. I should know, I briefly worked for them. I don't have much use for a pure tablet, even one running Android. One of those pocket laptops with the touchscreen might be good because I can load Fedora on it.

Tablets are fucking retarded. The way in which Apple presented the iPad as a tablet computer underlines the idiocy regarding the design and implementation of the tablet. Simply put: it was presented as a sort of anti-computer. Instead of using a mouse and a keyboard to get around, you use exclusively touch controls. Want a file manager? Fuck you, use a real computer. Want to use photoshop which would actually make sense on a device that you can use a ```pen``` for? Fuck you.
Now Apple has backpeddled on its previous positions with the iPad because it realizes now that consumers don't see the same retarded vision of the table that Apple does. Consumers want to use the tablet like they use a normal computer. They want to be able to use normal, well-supported applications. They want to be able to plug in keyboards and mice. They want to be able to browse for files using a file manager. Apple has completely reversed and has taken steps to implement all the functionality mentioned, because Apple knows the product would be fucking useless.
When it comes down to it, a two-in-one laptop makes a lot more sense than a tablet. Realistically, you are not going to use drawing functionality on a touch-screen very often. People who use their device for work would prefer a real keyboard that they don't have to buy separately.
