I just got an Technic Sa-450 from my father, now i'm trying to make it work.

Just got done repairing pic related.
Also jesus christ what an ordeal these things are to work on.

>Technic Sa-450
Oh fuck! I actually have one of these downstairs!

D6Chads rise up.

I only had to fix the ground and clean the contacts to get this one to sound great.

you retards spend thousands of dollars on meme tech to listen to britney spears flacs meanwhile im over here making commercial grade music with libre software and some $25 headphones

Mine was a wreck when I pulled it out of an estate sale. The battery carrier contained a solid crystalline mass, the rubber was all deteriorated and all the grease was thoroughly crunchy. Miraculously no electronic issues like dead mute or NR circuits. Cleaned it up, replaced the rubber, relubed the mechs and actually managed to save the battery carrier with an acid treatment followed by electroplating the contacts with a car battery. Could have been worse. All told including replacement parts I was only $20-ish out of pocket.
I'm genuinely impressed that this model sounds as good as it does while being 50% bodge wire by volume.

Filthy analog media...

Bought Sony SSCS5, and a Topping mx3 speaker+headphone amp/DAC, for my room yesterday. whole thing ran me ~170. Did I do good? I'm gonna use it with a Sub lifted from a retired 5.1 setup.

Sounds pretty snakeoil if I'm being honest.

Should this be my first turntable? I don't know much about stuff, but this seems like reasonable price to quality/performance ratio. I don't give a shit about the audiophile aspect, for the time being I'll probably just play it over bt to my shite soundbar (might toslink if I can place it close enough). I just want something with decent quality and reasonable full-package price that won't fuck up my growing collection of records.

I had no idea what it was so I googled it and immediately found it can't output over bluetooth. Your plans wouldn't work.
Read up the tiniest bit yourself before asking to be spoonfed, user

Post a link and I’ll look at its specs.

>batteries depleted to the point where the battery indicator is completely off + FF and RW aren't any faster than the play speed
>it still plays back at the correct speed and full volume for close to another hour
What sorcery is this

I've been mulling over it for a long time, got bt input mixed up with output. Guess I will need to run a cable after all if I do get it. Trivial issue in the budget scheme of things. No need to give an attitude about a simple mistake.

pro-jectusa.com/en-us/products/pro-ject-analog/juke-box-line/juke-box-e

budget -> bigger

For $500 you could get a really amazing turntable. I got a Yamaha PX2 (pictures earlier in thread) for $600 and its top-of-the-line retro.

I'm not giving you an attitude over a simple mistake, it is obvious you haven't done anything but find a turntable you like the appearance of in a price class you feel you're comfortable with.

Do you even stack bruh

Cute CRT monitor, does it do anything?

Yes, I can use my yammy avr to duplicate video to it, especially great for playstation and emulation... its a jvc field monitor

>that 'I have severe hearing damage' EQ

tell me how I know you're deaf

I just want a stereo receiver that supports two sets of speakers and up to date connectivity such as bluetooth and usb dac. Such thing however doesn't seem to exist and the more high end you go the less features you seem to get because of retarded audiophiles who need to have separate device for everything.

I thought i finally found some decent component shelving the other day
>$150+ for pressed wood
It's literally a rectangle with three shelves and a piece of glass, why the fuck do these people think it'll sell at this price?

Do you actually want to listen to old pressings, or do you just want sub par versions of digital masters? New pressings are mostly a meme, don't be fooled by DR-Meter readings.

Nice linear tracker, can it run vertically?

I've got a Technics SL-10 and A LOT of C01/C03 Consise components I've been collecting over the years. Great mini systems those.

I have one of these in the other room. Really need to get on a ripping setup to copy records to digital.

How you got your hearing damage? Tell us the story.

If you don't have a shitton of money to find and buy rare records unavailable otherwise don't bother with this meme tech.

I just got given an audio interface so I was considering swapping out my AT2020+ USB mic for an XLR.
Should I just go straight to an AT2020 XLR, or is there another mic around the £100/$150 mark you'd suggest? I mostly use it for Voiceover.

Been using a $1 lapel mic
Trying to find a condenser mic. Thinking of getting the Behringer umc22, but not sure on which mic. Don't want to spend more than ~$100 on everything

It’s actually set to bring out a faint sfx in the background which I couldn’t tell what it is. You think you’re being witty because when most people lose their hearing its the upper range of the audio spectrum that starts falling off, but the example is actually a “notch” and you’re not as smart as you think you are.

Thanks! I had been wanting a yammy px2 for a long time and the price was right. Also haha no it does not run vertically/perpendicular to floor. Those models look pretty sexy tho (pictured).

Hearing damage(from noise or playing music too loud) makes a notch at around 4 kHz on audiogram. Guess how your EQ looks

>Imagine thinking you’re this smart as ro be full of shit and condescending of your trivia level knowledge

But seriously tho eqs exist for a reason and one of those reasons is to bring certain sounds forward or other sounds back. Handy for isolating sounds (as seen in pic) or turning down bass at night or turning up treble so u can hear it better from another room. Tho I should setup multi zones thatd rule...

Listening to audio with that eq setting all the time would be insane even if u had hearing damage. The EQ would still have a strong gradient upward after 4k and not return to normal; see pic; thats not a notch.

Heres and early setup of where I was trying to not wake the neighbors with bass and also testing out using max headroom as a visualization on my jvc field monitor

Yup!
The only format I still kinda like is vinal... sounds ok for anolouge sound (not as good as CD tho) and has the ability to allow random seek access! As well as when mixing I like to feel the inertia of the platter, I don't like digital mixing!
Reel to reel is ok too, because it has passable sound for a tape and looks by far the best of all formats when rewinding at full speed only to auto stop at the set location with such a satisfying slowdown and capstan engagement clunk... I could use these anolouge formats for those reasons, but not sound quality.

FLAC is king of audio. End of...
CD can't random acess as well as a FLAC file, also compression is nice with FLAC.

Most external DACs are excelent too now days... And most modern half decent Amps are very good these days, all the electronic part of audio has been near as damit sorted now days, concentrate on the SPEAKERS 100% the thing to concern yourself with... all other comopnents in the audio chain are easy and cheap to get good (amp requiring a little spend, but untill I had >$2000 speakers I would not be spending more than $250 on my amp...
Obviously recording and production has as much to do with sound quality as any equipment used to listen with...

Attached: adwad.jpg (800x962, 171K)

Most of the time the eq is simply off of course. It’s really handy to have! I love it. GE-60. In the earlier pics I isolated a hihat that I found out was a sped up spitting sample when I played it back half speed on my pioneer recording deck

Almost all nonmodern vinyls are produced from a master reel to reel audio. Reel to reel is probably the best sounding analog format.

Can someone pls identify this amp? I don’t have a better pic. I went through all pics of Onkyo amps listed on hifiengine, there’s no exact match.

there's one in every crowd

You’re almost entirely right. The only people who think otherwise are delusional analog audiophiles. Thats what my NUC is for (FLAC, visualizations). I also use my PSOne as a CD player, it has visualizations too apparently. Also I was told the CD standard is based on limits of human hearing. But discs are fucking annoying sometimes. Digital is obviously the most convenient and best sounding. Records and tapes are just so active listeny and make for great conversation pieces and the old equipment is so charming. My wife and I invited a cute woman from Tinder over recently to “talk and listen to our hifi system,” LOL. Sapphic sounds. She also liked my Macintosh Plus and Packard Bell Multimedia v134.

I guess a bump and a question.

I am a bit clueless on setups for good audio from computer to headphones. I have a pair of MDR7506s and I was looking to get something that could get good audio quality, but I would also like to hook up a recording mic at some point.

I feel like I should get an audio interface, but should I also get an amp?

Say if i were to get a focusrite 2i2, would I need like a Schiit Magni as well for the headphone?
