Switched to Linux From Microdick

Well
Jow Forums
I finally did it

Great. Linux Mint is a normie distro, but compared to Windows, you're doing great son.

I believe in you. Eventually you can end up a Void Linux musl edition using 400lb NEET with an amazing UNIX beard.

>discord
You missed the entire point

enjoy your 10 extra steps to do anything meaningful

ty
already have the beard part
ok Mr. Jones
I would have done gentoo
but I was too lazy

good for you, now install neofetch like all the other cool kids✔️

Everyone's journey begins from somewhere. I remember trying to replicate the Windows experience when I started using GNU/Linux too.

Just because you're a brainlet who can't use a terminal doesn't mean your clicky-clicky funtime method is more efficient. It's actually much faster to use a terminal when you know what you're doing. I could have the task done before you find it in your menus.

now get tmux or i3 so you can split your damn windows and not do that layering shit ever again

Me too OwO

>he thinks anyone finds a terminal hard
>he uses it as an excuse to brag about being able to use a terminal as if it's an achievement
>he thinks the terminal is the only potential barrier to doing anything meaningful on linux

>don't know what command to enter
>Gotta google it first
>can't find easy answer
>gui labels what it does

I do know what command to enter. That's the point. Eventually you stop needing to google shit. Git gud.
It is the only barrier. Might have been different in 2005, but not anymore. Have you used Linux since Bush Jr. was president?

will take a look at those
nice
buddy of mine has been using linux for a bit
wanted to start moving before microcock officially kills off windows and bc i've my fair share of issues with windows

>tfw still dual booting
>only a couple of programs are keeping me from switching to linux fulltime

Give Wine a try. It's shit but it might be good enough for your purposes.

what programs user?

has Wine improved? Last I tried was 2015,
It was faster to just install windows
I really like ShareX and haven't found a similiar program for linux, I use it very frequently for all sorts of things and would be a pain in the butt to workaround. And also just a few video games I'm playing that don't linux atm.

enjoy your 100% cpu usage while watching youtube videos.

buddy of mine has ran dark souls 3 quite well on it
with consistent 60 fps and no crashes
some issues with KF2 tho

>doesn't happen with 8/16 cpu

People still browse this site without https.... OP install the HTTPS Everywhere extension.

wine has improved immensely but it still depends what program you are using for.

there are a bunch. Kazam, recordmydesktop, vokoscreen, simple stream recorder. I personally haven't used them, i've only used OBS studio, but for livestreaming which is different than what you seem to be doing.

S E E T H I N G Wind*wsfag

Nothing wrong with that

>switched from a dick to a big pain in the ass

welcome to the family, son

Please kill yourself

install gento

Your fortune: Average Luck

>installs linux
>first thing they do is to show off
and this is how the braindead desktop threads are born.
do something useful with it

try lutris

linux mint is an excellent choice desu👌

its linux what can you do with it?

Your fortune: Better not tell you now

I'm about to go full-time Linux and my plan is to use Nvidia Gamestream via Moonlight, or Parsec to play my video games. I've been testing it lately and it works really well. I played through DMC5 entirely on a SteamLink

Wine itself is about the same as before, but with DXVK you can now use Vulkan instead of DX11.

Also depending on what you use ShareX for, I use uguush for most things. It's for images only though.

>its linux what can you do with it?
let's look at things that people currently do with linux:
- http server running some webapp/
- ftp/smb server
- DHCP/DNS server
- (wifi) router
- work station for software dev/media production/...
- gaming system
and so on. I see LOTS of alternatives, practically infinite.
you could also mess around the system for fun, perhaps simply because you are curious.

Linux has been backdoored. Windows 7 hasn't.

Doot on the windows nigger.

>mint

>server stuff
i only use computer as a work station not a server station also there's no photoshop
>router
i already have one
>gaming system
there's no good game and i don't like how buggy wine is

then keep using windows, you little retard.

fine you linux you umm i don't know the swear word

k

the only reason that looniggers use GNUgger/Faggix is to screenshot their tranny anime screen fetches and to lounge around and wank to how much work they are getting done on their stall'd cuck machines

freetard tranny spergs would probably argue for terminal based photo editing and call people le click click Funtime faggots xDDD

there is literally zero difference between stallniggers and san-fran man-bun vegan liberal meditation hippy basedboys.

He should of just switched to macOS like a chad.

enjoy wasting your fuckin time

>anything ever

Screencap this and open it after 5 months: WELCOME BACK

Blessed post.

everyone starts somewhere. cut user some slack.

Linux is great, if you don't like
- AutoHotKey
- Adobe / Office
- Gaymes
- CAD
- Hardware support like printers

>mint
you might as well use windows, honestly

dig deep or go home

Thanks for the update dude

.t seething proprietary cucks
use mpv to watch youtube videos
>photoshop
gimp is better
>gaming system
not an expert with this but steam forked wine and made it so that you can play most windows games (that are on steam) on linux.
>backdoored
if you really cared about that you'd wear a tinfoil hat and would install openbsd on everything. also, i'm pretty sure all nt systems are full of backdoors.
hi redd*t

Sweet, I will soon join you my brothers. In a month I won't need Microsoft Word and replace Windows 10 with arch (i've been practicing and getting used to it in virtualbox).

the fuck is the x axis

Check out main (make image) for screenshots. A lot better than shitty scrot

What the fuck is this graph? What the fuck is X?

t. angry linux spergo who needlessly wastes her time.

Attached: 1534797589592.png (716x836, 171K)

don't listen to the rest
xubuntu is the best

>implying on window
>doing anything meaningful

>Nvidia
>Linux

AHAHAHAHAHAHA LINFANTS BTFO

Attached: linfantsbto.png (1600x900, 1.03M)

where's arch?
>too low iq to figure it out
unironically this, even when a drive was audibly scratching and malfunctioning xubuntu ran no problem

bump

Where's Arch, L4N and Manjaro you nigger???

where's my slackware you nigger cunt?

>another IQ bell curve where the y axis is the IQ points and the x axis means nothing
god did Jow Forums ever make a non retarded IQ graph

I'm disappointed, I don't see arch linux on here.

my job is needlessly wasting time? sweet

>stopped playing Vidya on my PC
>Need to learn Linux for work
>Install Ubuntu 18.04 on my desktop in a seperate SSD
>Keep my windows install SSD just in case
>Use it for 3 months with no issues
>Go back to my win10 because I wanted to play OW (it's still shit)
>Fonts make my eyes bleed

>you
>knowing what you're talking about
There will be a Windows PC in my serverroom with a good NVidia GPU that actually runs the game, with a Moonlight client on the Linux machine to actually play the games. There is no Nvidia present on the actual Linux machine

Ludite

>all this effort for a game

It's a worthy effort if I'm trying to get the best of both worlds.

>LINFANTS
ah, nice tie-in. Well done, sir.

Thanks for all the responses.
So far I'm pleased with how well it runs and his much easier it is than winshit.
Have a nice coffee pepe as my token of appreciation ;)

>I switched
Prove it, nibba.

There's no Arch or Gentoo on this chart, so it was 100% not made by anyone on Jow Forums.

nice OP

Using discord doesn't replicate Windows one bit though.

>use mpv to watch youtube videos
do I really need to install external video player and fucking third-party shit like "youtube-dl" to watch a youtube video without killing my cpu?

thank you for making our neckbeard online fingerprints less obvious
