So i just got a new ISP and router

So i just got a new ISP and router.
Apparenly there are a few sites i can't access now.
I tried to change the DNS to googles. Now it works fine.
Im not a huge fan of Google though.
So i tried the DNS Namebench program to find the best DNS for me.
It recommended either my current, google or Comodo.
I dont really know Comodo...
What do you guys think i should do?
Should i just say fuck it and use Google DNS?

>1.1.1.1
inb4 botnet, dns is plaintext anyway and not very interesting from a data mining perspective

Sorry im not sure what you mean.
Should i use 1.1.1.1?

Just looked it up.
>1.1.1.1 with Warp.
Is this a legit DNS?

it's cloudfares dns

Well the main reason i ask the question is because i would like a DNS that doesnt abuse my info. And i feel that google does that.
So how is cloudfares rep.?

Head over to opennic.org

Woah theres alot of good stuff here.
So this was one that was recommended. Should i just take this one?

Go with the recommended ones, as they'll have lower latency (according to where you are).

Well seems pretty legit.
Thanks ill try it out!

So these are just DNS that someone has volunteered for people to use, to create more privacy and so on?

Yes, just as with FLOSS projects...

what's the worst they can do, associate your IP with youtube.com and Jow Forums.org lookups just the same way your ISP can? cloudflare have a de facto monopoly on CDNs anyways all your data is belong to them, set up your own DNS servers with DNSCrypt if the domains you visit are really so sensitive

>i would like a DNS that doesnt abuse my info
how? As already said, DNS is plaintext and not an interesting data mining target, there are far better ways for a company to waste their resources.

They arent sensitive at all. It's just a priciple i have. The most sensitive i do is torrenting. So it isnt really a huge issue. I would just prefer not to use google because i dont like them.
But my ISP DNS block my torrent site.

Well thanks. That makes me feel better.

nvm fixed it

use opendns fags

9.9.9.9
1.1.1.1

cleanbrowsing is good too

Just install dnscrypt...

1.1.1.1
Jow Forums already uses cloudflare

I dont really get if these are good for me.
Do you use them?
Im not in the states. Im in denmark
