July 7

not interested, I need threadripper

imagine giving a fuck about next generation processors, as long as your CPU is from like the last 5 years its fine unless your a fucking gamer retard who needs to max out the witcher 3 like a total faggot.

i wish 16 cores was 300 bucks...

Cool, 3600X will most likely be my next CPU to replace my 11-year-old C2Q. Navi will most likely be another shit release but we'll see.

Yeah dude FUCK people who actually use their hardware and shit

I'm looking to switch from Intel to Ryzen. Should I wait for Ryzen 3rd gen to come out before I do so? I'm going to get either a 1st or 2nd gen Ryzen chip. Will the deals and discounts be better on the first gen chips if I wait for the second gen's release? There are crazy deals at Microcenter right now, like R5 1600 for $80.

Are you struggling to do stuff on your current hardware to the point that it stresses you out? Then buy now.
Is your current hardware mostly okay for now? Then wait.

It's so I can render shit faster. I'm just wondering if the price will come down even more than it is now if I wait for the new generation to be released.

Don't do it wait for Zen 3

>no source link
This thread is just as bad as a twitter_screenshot.jpg thread, and you should feel bad about posting it.

my CPU is 9 years old...I think I have the right to consider an upgrade

why do retards buy the X version?
why pay extra 50 bucks for a 200mh pathetic overclock that you can do yourself and more.
and that pathetic "better" cooler...please.... stfu.

i guess idiot goyim will always be exploited, even by the "good guy" AMD

Don't do it wait for Zen 4

>useless render shit
grow up you manchild loser, pc is not only for making useless videos, there's other things like gaming

Wait for Zen2

Meh I have a 2700x already I just want amd to put out a good gpu that isn't Vega/gcn based shit

I hate that next month is two months away.

Announced at computex available 45 days later

But this month is next month is month next is

Personally I want to build a mini ITX entry level gayming PC with 3200G or 3400G
Mostly for the hell of it

The base clock and the boost clock are often at least 300Mhz apart (per core). The perfect thing about the X variant is that it automatically OCs within the thermal limits of your cooler while also using all the idling and power save algorithms when you don't really use your PC or use it lightly. Mainly, it just maxes out the OC during heavy use.
I don't see the problem here. Yes you can buy a non-X variant and try to OC it yourself manually, but those are lower binned chips too.

that's still like 6 months away man

Every single person who is on a 4c/4t i5 has a lot of reason to be excited about this.

give me 8c/16t for ~$200

It'll be a long wait but I hope we'll eventually have apus with on package hbm to finally set onboard graphics free. 1080p60 on a single package at 15 watts tdp, if you will.

The ryzen 1700 is $149 right now

The X versions are perfect for people smart enough not to buy intel but who just want a set it and forget it solution.
Furthermore, you're completely ignoring the silicone lottery. With the X you're getting a higher binned chip. You don't have to look far to find people who fell for the "just overclock to the same as the X" meme and ended up with something 2-300mhz slower.
Fuck off neckbeard.

Eventually

I still use phenom ii man, give me a break.

yeah. but I want the increase in ipc from ryzen 3k

Even Ryzen 2 APUs manage to have an average of 60fps in esports on ultra, and in AAAs at low settings. The problem is, there are quite a few stutters and the fps can even drop to single digits when something heavy happens. In poorly optimized games like GTA V the fps drops to 10 if you look at an explosion for example

Ah, the "I'm on Jow Forums and nobody here uses their PC for anything other than porn and games" argument.

Ryzen +/2000*

IT'S OVER INTEL IS FINISHED

I'm waiting to update my very old Intel C2D E6550 @ 3,5GHz

you're *

You can wait for Zen2, or you can get one of those crazy cheap 1600 and then just swap it for a Zen2.

>R5 1600 for $80
Don't wait, just buy that one. There will absolutely be good deals on first, if they still have any, and second generation Ryzen CPUs when Ryzen 3 comes out. Wouldn't care about that when you can get a R5 1600 for $80, that's already a really good deal.

Don't know what CPU you have now but my guess is that you'll find that a R5 1600 is just fine for your purposes.

Literally me. Wanted to swap to zen + but it would have basically been a side grade in single core (plus my 2133mhz ram woulda choked it)

my fx-6300 and 8 gigs of ram have served me well, But when 3xxx drops I might treat myself and upgrade to 2700.

>not 3600X

Where the fuck is the GPU information? Who the fuck cares about CPU, Intel has that covered, I want the COMPETITION TO NVIDIA!

Nobody cares about Intel, everyone is interested in Zen 2.

>Where the fuck is the GPU information?
When AMD wants you to hear it.
>I want the COMPETITION TO NVIDIA!
We know you want your Nvidia GPU for cheaper, but that won't happen.

>15 watts tdp
nah, more like 65W

I think it will drop 2 weeks after the announcement like usual. No reason to drag until july 7, they have Navi for that.

Binning. Higher chance to get a stable sample for overclocking.

Typical package for high-performance APUs is 45W

>We know you want your Nvidia GPU for cheaper,
lol, such passive aggressive cucks because they know their navi will be shit, so they shit talk anybody who wants navi to be good because they are expecting too much form it lol

Navi is excellent, but you're going to pay for it, too.
No discounts for today.

better binning and better boost clocks, along with extreme boost clocks that are often better than manual overclocking

I'm still on a i5-3570k. It's served me well for the past 6 years, and I didn't switch to Skylake or Zen 1 because my Ivy Bridge was chugging along just fine. If Zen 2 ends up being a big performance boost, though, then the upgrade will definitely be worth it.

???

>6 cores entry level
Stop mommy Su!
My dick can only get so hard

We know absolutely nothing about Zen 2 or its overclocking ability.
If the 3600x can overclock better than the 3600, I will buy it. If not, I will get the 3600.
Don't assume you know shit.

>16 cores/32 threads 5.1GHz boost
I want to believe this, but it's really hard

Obviously it's 1-2 core turbo

2950X 4.4GHz turbo

Stop kvepching and just buy itâ„¢ goyim

if you amd fags keep this up then I will.
I coul have bought 2060 and enjoyed better performance for a while now, but I am holding out for navi to give amd one last chance.
fucking 2060s are cheaper than vega 56 here.

Zen 5 !

:(

BUMPERINO

>tfw fell for the Ryzen meme
>absolutely hate it
>want to upgrade to 9700k
>keep hearing that Zen 2 will be groundbreaking
I'll wait to see at this point but I'm guessing it will be a shit meme again

im waiting to upgrade my dusty 1231 v3 from 2014 to a better one alongside with my gtx 970. im really seeing my setup age as i cant play newer games on high or max and achieve desirable fps at the same time.

>im looking forward to consumer products because I need it for my workstation

im on a 1700, while I dont need to upgrade, and will likely wait till the 4000 comes out to pick up a 3000 on the cheap, i'm still very excited to see what amd is going to do, and what they are able to do, as its potentially doubling single core performance for me, along with potentially quadrupling multicore.

I use a few applications that are single and dual core locked, along with the times I use something that will take everything I give it, not to mention I have a great love for headroom.

see the 1800x, it will be 300, just not 300 lat launch.

deals will most likely be better to push stock off, but honestly, I would look at used rather then new if price is that much of a concern, and in the used case, very much wait for zen 2 as people will upgrade as its a drop in upgrade.

X oc higher you idiot

the leaked engineering sample on the 570 board had 4 cores 8 threads

and in Japan

Attached: nip_CPU_share.jpg (550x370, 59K)

send it to me then

Lies

shut up nigger

Ryzen can barely OC anyway.

I'm on an i7 920, I have every right to consider an upgrade.

Lying ass hoe

>Samsung's low power process aimed at mobile SoC's barely OC anyway.
ftfy

>>im looking forward to consumer products because I need it for my workstation

thats pretty short sighted. plenty of people make purchasing decisions for plenty of businesses. no they arent walking into microcenter and buying a stack of cpus because they want business computers to come with easily used warranties. they can still be holding out for a "really" worthwhile upgrade to put in their proposal.

also, theres a shit ton of people that do use a home pc for work.

Sandy bros were always about value for performance and I had an athlon 64 x2 before my i5. Will be nice having a motherboard that should have some actual options later on and DDR4 is finally fast enough and dropping in price. The only thing missing in a GPU worth actually upgrading.
