>still no good file system for a shared hard drive
UDF would probably be the best option but the setup for hard drives is a pain.

shared through what? network?
what about samba?

Samba's not a filesystem

Oh no, just on a single computer through two operating systems. Sorry for making it confusing as I'm just a dumb frogposter.

oh yea, so you want a nfs then right?

mmmm, what about fat32? I don't know if it is in your definition of "good" but works well for me

NFS isn't a filesystem either.

no? then i'm out of ideas user
good luck with what you mean

>fat32
Well no journaling or files larger than 4GiB

Well I think we can all agree that windows is the LCD, so these are your options:
FAT
NTFS
ReFS

I'd probably go with NTFS strictly for permissions and the fact that ntfs-3g is actively maintained.

>different partitions, different file systems, different OS
what's the problem? it's not like you're running both at once.

>ReFS
you can't even use this on non-enterprise windows anymore I think

So I need two copies of every file too?

Its called SQL, loser.

no

Can Windows honestly still not read EXT4? Even with whatever Linux subsystem for Windows bullshit they're trying to promote?

I haven't used the wsl for more than five minutes but it feels like 70% cygwin, 30% container

>Network File System isn't a filesystem either.
Don't be a retard, user. You don't need a block device to be a file system.

use the RedSea filesystem

exFAT

>ReFS
will always remind me of this epic bread

Lustre is pretty alright.

Just werks on Windows 10 Pro for Workstations

mkudffs -b 512 -m hd -l 'nameOfChoice' /dev/sdx#

>the setup for hard drives is a pain
Fuckin gas yourself, OP, you literal retard.
