Starting to think filgun user is secretly a jannie

that's a new gun, or maybe I just haven't been paying attention

But that one has way less pins to work with

I like how not a single part of this keyboard is in focus.

Got new keycaps the other day. I love it for my first ever mechanical.

Attached: 1551660439758.jpg (4032x2268, 3.01M)

Still have the same keyboard. My left alt key has started getting picky about key presses. Should I try to clean the cap or just de/solder a replacement?

Attached: keyberreta.jpg (2400x1600, 962K)

it takes like 30 seconds to replace a switch since it's just two pins

that hair is triggering me

>it takes like 30 seconds to replace a switch
don't you have to unsolder/resolder every switch if it's plate-mounted?

Yes you do, it's unfortunate.

>having only one keyboard and like 50 different handguns
your priorities are out of whack, m8.
i need to type every day, but it's only very infrequently that i need to shoot something.

No, just that one switch

I swear it wasn't on purpose.

well what if he only types enough to post here, and spends the rest of his time shooting shit?

youtube.com/watch?v=7HYXsZqpHrg

How are you supposed to separate the plate and the PCB then dumb dumb?

You don't need to. What the fuck kind of keyboard are you using?

How do you get the switch out of the plate then?

You push or pull it out

How would I push it out of the plate if the plate is glued to the PCB by way of 60_ switches being soldered in?

I'm confused are you just pretending? The switch is just held into the PCB. The plate is there for support. Once you desolder the pins nothing is holding the switch in place so you can just push it out with a screwdriver.

See

You can't "push" out plate mounted switches, you have to pry them off the plate which can damage it, but you CAN do it. See , he has to pry the switch out of the mounting plate, he doesn't "push" it

Learn english you retard.

I just push mine out the back through the hole in the PCB. It seems I was right in the end and you don't have to desolder every switch because that would be retarded.

If you don't want to damage the plate it's the best way to do it fuckface.

would gtypist be useful if I'm stuck at ~100wpm and I have bad habits? (like not using the little finger for A and ;), or is there a better alternative?

What kind of shitty plate are you using? Most mid to high end keyboards have steel plates. Exactly what kind of damage are you talking about?

Scratching the plate.
A steel flathead can scratch steel and aluminum dumb dumb.

But I'm not using a flathead, I'm using a small phillips head. If it does cause scratches it would be on the underside and not visible. Also you don't have to use a screwdriver as there are other plastic tools. Besides who cares if it's scratched since you can't even see it. I'd hardly call that a damaged plate.

I have an autistic yearning for a keyboard with a hyper/super/meta key scheme. Do they exist?

If you buy TKL then you may as well cut off your genitals too. Won't be needing those lmao

I'm sure there is a keycap set with that scheme

You mean like this?

Attached: Hyper7.jpg (4032x3024, 1.18M)

wtf why are xda keycaps so shit? they feel worse than chicklet keys..
If only there was a cherry profile keyset with 2.25u spacebars
>tfw there is but its GMK group buys

I tried XDA for the first time recently too. I like DSA better even, the wide keycaps were such a pain to get used to.

Jow Forums here, he doesn't shoot his guns either.
Also he's fat.

Oh shit yes. Source?

deskthority.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11344

It's in the filename, look up the Hyper7

I guess I'll get in there and see what it looks like. If I can get to just the one switch I can do that, but if it's locked in to the backplate somehow, behind the solder points, idk, I might be too chicken.

Also
>only 50 handguns
>shooting them ever or even touching them without white gloves
lol

Attached: just a keyboard.jpg (1333x2000, 586K)

if you don't shoot them, why do you have ammo?

Doesn't meet my "exists" criterion.
And if I'm being honest, I want a more standard sized keyboard.

SHIT it's all falling apart

It's right there, it exists. Shoulda said "readily available" if that's what you meant m8.

>I want a more standard sized keyboard.
Then get a QMK fullsize and program in your super meta hyper keys

To prematurely wear the springs down in his magazines, of course.

strung up by your own web of lies

Should i get a Leopold FC660M PD with cherry blues or should I wait a bit more and get the meme HHKB pro 2?

Get the former with clears.

They only have it in reds, silent reds, browns and like i said blues

That's too bad. To be honest between those switches I'd get the blues then. If given the option I'd swap in clickbar switches though.

Do you maybe know any other keyboards with HHKB meme layout?
Preferably around the 150 euro range and without it beeing shipped all the way from a gookland

Besides custom (expensive) boards, no.

and what about the Leopold FC660M PD layout?
Or is that also a Leopold only thing?
Thanks anyways

there are but it's mostly custom stuff or stuff outside your budget like the massdrop alt or the IC whitefox

There's the clueboard, but that's not any cheaper than a leopold last I checked.

my jades have never done that, not even close
even without lubrication they seemed more than
maybe those were the early batches

fuck I meant to hilight this one too about jades getting not bouncing back

I have tons of ex'es he can shoot!
Firearms are an invaluable tool in the war on not having enough firearms.

Do SA keycaps look weird on floating keys?

Springs don't wear down from bring compressed, it's the cycle of compression and decompression that wears out springs

There are Ducky and Varmilo keyboards with a similar layout.

Probably. Most of the SA keycaps I've seen were uniform and not sculpted.

SA caps even look weird on high profile boards with slim bezels imo.
When they look "right" though, they look amazing.

I got a hhkb type-s and typing on it is a dream

You really can’t compare it to mechanical switches

>Vortex Race 3
>function keys suddenly flipped, media buttons by default now
>media buttons also in wrong place on the row

Anyone have a clue what the fuck I did here?

Attached: 1542525693207.gif (500x395, 1.85M)

sounds like you didn't clean your keyboard properly

Nonsense, I lathered it up just the other week.
I also just fixed it with a reset, still have no idea what it was though.

Imagine using SA in 2019

imagine spending more than $1 for a keyboard

Attached: 1525326534319.jpg (600x310, 29K)

Now that's one fine keyboard. It reminds me of the Symbolics keyboard.
People often underestimate the importance and placement of modifier keys, not to mention extra ones such as hyper.

my nigga

FC660C

how can one keyboard be so BASED

Attached: Dell_L100.jpg (1600x740, 146K)

what do you guys think of my shitty keyboard?

Attached: IMG_20190404_124655095.jpg (1944x2592, 1.31M)

I give it a thirdworlder/10

Anyone have a link or pic handy of that paper that analyzed switch travel? I vaguely remember part of the conclusion being that a relatively short actuation distance with a good amount of post travel being best for your fingers.

got some gateron blues, and I prefer them to my cherry blues. The cherries were a couple of years old though, not sure if that makes a difference. Really enjoying typing on this keyboard.

I went back to Cherry MX Blues after typing on Kailh BOX Pinks for a while. Man, I miss it already. Having plastic bits slapping each other for tactility just feels wrong.

Mother fucker! Someone here said I could change the CAPS to CTRL on the Ducky One 2 Mini, but you can only change it to FN.
Buyers remorse general?

>Buyers remorse general?
I bought a logitech g pro because it was on sale and I was tight on my build budget.

I'm thinking of getting a planck to put on my 11" laptop for class. Can someone with a laptop and a planck tell me if there's a lot of wobbling and whatnot?

Navy or Jade?

Navy.

Jow Forums what's a keyboard has a fast response time , with fps games? Since I trying to compete more , would like to upgrade since I'm not doing bad in tournaments. I'm using an old Lenovo membrane keyboard lol...

Just practice or buy a better monitor.
Keyboard is not a game changer

>Budget
~$100au. I can spend more but preferably not
>Location (continent at least)
Sydney
>Preferred switch type
Cherry Brown
>Layout
ANSI
>Form factor
TKL (80 or 60 don't mind)
>Backlight
no

forgot to mention i'd like it to be dark grey/graphite if possible

Where is a good place to go try differebt switches. Never used mechanical so i have no idea what I'd like

I have a 144hz 1m monitor , not saying it's my keyboard or anything but I would like a keyboard with a nice response time and not totally press down the whole key , ya know?

where do you live?

Canada

it sounds like you're confusing response time for actuation distance

sorry I can't be specific then, but I'd go to the biggest consumer electronics store near you. In Sydney the city jb hifi has a section for gaymer gear/keyboards and they have a few testers around

how much would it cost to have 70~ keys custom printed
alternatively what keycap sets have a decent amount of non-standard addon kits

Kinda new to keyboard desu , coming from stock keyboard they give out at work to actually investing into a high end one , I know a bit about switches but that's about it

probably grab any mechanical keyboard with black, red or brown switches
black and red however have no feedback when pressing down a key unless you bottom out so they can be weird getting used to
