It's always been an unpopular position but Active Directory is a very comfy way of managing hundreds of desktops.

Right after i changed my samsung browser homepage to duckduckgo, a virus appears.
The virus dont do anything but to opwn a random website in the samsung webbrowser with google search.
Its annoying and i always close it, i havent found a solution for now and they open less often now.
But thats a good reason not to use google anymore

Microsoft lost because they were the first company to try to fight open source. They obviously failed: small teams of 2-12 people can't outcode the hivemind of the internet combined.

Microsoft ran out of money trying to defeat linux and buckled under the weight of their stock price.

Google has a way to go. They changed their company slogan away from don't be evil. Then they started making a closed source competitor to the linux kernel and when they got android apps working in chrome they kept that only on their own proprietary chrome os.

Early in microsoft's history in the 2000s they invented .net which was a closed system in which microsoft got to hoard their c# code. Now they are being forced by logic and math to release projects one by one very slowly (likely because they are having to check for nasty backdoors and make it look like they were never there).

Google has now invented the GO language and has huge swaths of code that are "open"" but only if you work inside of google, and some code is restricted to certain sections of google. They are actually repeating the history of microsoft with .net, completely and blissfully unaware that they are repeating what is now computer history.

Apple is a different story. They have the biggest bank account of any company in america. So it will take a very long time before open source forces them to buckle. They are essentially using their own mutated version of freebsd unix but they haven't been maintaining it and so it's got some major flaws building up. They too will buckle to open source.

Videos are being shadowbanned and the ai that recommends youtube videos to normplebs while they scroll through the feed on their toilet admittedly skews towards the left.

This could mean that they would actually be liable for what is on google and youtube, same with twitter and facebook and reddit and all that other trash, because they are trying to be in charge of the overall message.

It depends what the courts say but again what do you think will happen over the course of history versus what will happen in the next few months.

Have you actually tested the speeds of onedrive versus google drive lately?

I was noticing my porn browsing and wallpapering was getting very slow on google drive with my 2 gb of ram pc.

So I downloaded all of my pron and papes and uploaded it to onedrive to test the speeds. It's significantly faster for each operation I tried, the menus are more responsive, and it does't ever hang like google drive does for me.

But of course it only "wurks on my own machine" so your milage may vary.

Try it out. You may be surprised the speed of microsoft code. Less ram too.

Well it is one strategy that anyone who sues google might use. They will have to prove that it goes against the law and that it has caused damages to their client, whoever that might be. But few organizations have the resources to go up against google for such a years long battle besides maybe the elctronic frontier foundation.

Its not a mess. Read on the page rank algorithm, then take a second to think about the masses of phone posters using this site. After that think about how many people skip past the home page (either because they use bookmarks, phone app direct them to the boards, etc). Lastly think about how people actually share links to pages on this site, both on and off of the site itself. Does anyone ever actually link the home page routinely (outside of the threads and boards hosted here which only do so by design at the top and bottom of the webpage)?

However the startups that made it by hard work, and I mean really made it big, suddenly become filthy rich. These devs on these startups started in their basements often working their asses off losing sleep, eating poorly, and living in terrible conditions. Suddenly their stock is worth more than they could dream. But they have been working so hard that they decide to just keep on working hard because fuck it. And they gain more money and power and become bigger and bigger and more successful.

But slowly things start to change. People get sick. Jerrry gets cancer. Bob decides he is too rich to give a fuck and move to some castle somewhere. Susan has kids and decides to stay with her now rich family. One by one each person which originally made the company so successful goes away until the last one is gone.

All of a sudden you have a company that is one of the biggest software giants that has lost the thing that originally made it good: the right team of people with the right ideas, exprience, interpersonal relationships, drive, and hard work. They have found in baseball that if you take all of the best players from each team and put them into one team that doesn't necessarily mean they will win. The players might not work well together. It seems in google's new result it "STILL" continues to manipulate the user's experience by trying to first suggest to them the Jow Forums board.

The purpose of Jow Forums is the sharing of chinese culture especially chinese cartoons. If the search result were safe and friendly and meant to accruately display the purpose and content of the site our first page /a/ would have been listed.

The fact that they still list Jow Forums as a recommendation leads me to believe that google is trying to hide the fact that the originally manually manipulated the result to sway the viewer and are still intentionally trying to hide the fact that they are trying to sway the viewer.
