QR Code

Why isn't QR codes more mainstream?
I went to japan, and it was every where.
You pay through it, connect to WiFi , share contact, there's even discount coupon.

Everything is a botnet, even Jow Forums(nel).

>japan
There's your answer.
Japan is always 10 years ahead of the west, even though their websites look 20 years old.

QR codes are more fucking retarded than URL shorteners

I find it a good way to share my BTC wallet.

gayjin cope

A lot that can be done with qr codes can be done in differentways. For instance paying.

>be me
>work at cafe
>people just come to use free wifi without ordering any drinks just water
>or just stand outside
>switch to QR code for WiFi credentials
>post the QR code on the tables and the entrance with note "Scan for the cafe free WiFi"
>mfw people taking pictures with their camera trying to figure it out
>mfw only people figured it out where android users and non-mac users
>mfw the cafe became quite again

>mfw no battery on my phone
>mfw I only have a fucking laptop
the fuck am i supposed to do now

use laptop camera.

Because people are retarded. I use QR to share WiFi passwords and nobody has a fucking barcode scanner on their phone until I force them to install it.

QRs for payment are rarted when NFC exists.

QR is universal and more accessible. NFC is a meme.

>force them to install it.
What?
iOS have QR scan since 11, and android have google lens.

It's more like Japan is 10 years behind, but everything is much more widespread
They stick with what works and lets it spread rather than advancement for the sake of advancement like the west does which leaves rural areas behind

I don't want any of that.

The fuck is Google lens? I haven't seen a single android device with the barcode scanner app or the ability to read barcodes from the native camera outside of LineageOS and MIUI. And they don't automatically recognize barcodes.

>They stick with what works
And?
Sometimes that's a good idea.
Take cashless money for example.

>Google lens
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Lens
Also Huawei integrate the QR code right into the system, you can share contact with QR code, etc.

Japan is the greatest country ever to exist.
Yes, I know Japan sucks. This is a shitty world.

You can just open the camera app and it'll detect it automatically

You're not wrong. Their crime rates are non-existent, they're literally in the top 10 countries with lowest crime rates. Their people are healthy and kind as fuck, everything public just works there.

It wasn't really a criticism, Japan is really doing the right thing. Better to be a decade behind everywhere than being current in big cities and 30 years behind everywhere else

>Take cashless money for example.
Fuck that tho

But why?

We all know why. Don't try to turn this into a Jow Forums thread.

No toxic wh*tes.

Oh I see.
Also cashless money isn't good, japan rarely uses it too.
What I really like more is they still use fax machine.

I meant Jow Forums wise.

It's a nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to live there.
>be japanese
>die of overwork
>be american
>get shot
>be euro
>get culturally enriched
You just can't win.

Does anyone here have a Nintendo 3DS? This QR code contains a 3D image that pops out of the screen but only on a 3DS screen

Attached: 1550334614543.png (1000x1000, 315K)

>mfw the cafe became quite again
what did he mean by this
quite what? quite good? quite decent? quiet????

>quiet
Sorry didn't notice the typo.

>the ability to read barcodes from the native camera
my moto g4 plus from fucking 2016 doesn't have this problem

Because their culture is affected by Buddhism which is a religion of peace and acceptance. They behave like proper socialists (unlike euros), as in help people and don't expect anything back. People you help will probably return the favour to someone else so if you help them you're improving your society. The west is brainwashed by capitalism and expects money or property in return even if they don't do anything. Also Japan is basically a mono-culture so there are significantly less social and political clashes.
Euro-Americans are affected by Christianity which had 0 tolerance towards other religions but (unlike Muslims) still taught people that you should live in peace, be happy in poverty and respect your superiors. Which is why Europe has somewhat low crime rates.
Africans don't have a proper culture which is why the US has extremely high crime rates and over 50% of crimes are caused by blacks, which are only 4% of the population.

It has nothing to do with tech. So let's keep the discussion away from Jow Forums because mods are trigger-happy.

>the ability to read barcodes from the native camera
My gallery app can read QR codes.

>unlike Muslims
Now you're turning this into Jow Forums

Better infra-structures.

I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!

>work in cellphone shop
>Made QR codes for connecting customer phones to WiFi
>Show district manager
>They're blown away
>Share with rest of district
>Make my own "bag stuffer" sheets with QR codes to apps help get customers started.
>QRcodes are neat

Am I in the wrong profession?

JAPAN DOESN'T HAVE ANY NO BRAIN BLACK DUMB GORILLA APE NIGGER MONKEYS

IF YOU REMOVE NIGGERS FROM THE EQUATION THE USA HAS EVEN LOWER CRIME RATES THAN SWITZERLAND AND BELGIUM

Based and redpilled but actually unironically and unequivocally

I'm terribly sorry for interjecting another moment, but what I just told you is GNU/Linux is, in fact, just Linux, or as I've just now taken to calling it, Just Linux. Linux apparently does happen to be a whole operating system unto itself and comprises a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Most computer users who run the entire Linux operating system every day already realize it. Through a peculiar turn of events, I was misled into calling the system "GNU/Linux", and until now, I was unaware that it is basically the Linux system, developed by the Linux project.

There really isn't a GNU/Linux, and I really wasn't using it; it is an extraneous misrepresentation of the system that's being used. Linux is the operating system: the entire system made useful by its included corelibs, shell utilities, and other vital system components. The kernel is already an integral part of the Linux operating system, never confined useless by itself; it functions coherently within the context of the complete Linux operating system. Linux is never used in combination with GNU accessories: the whole system is basically Linux without any GNU added, or Just Linux. All the so-called "GNU/Linux" distributions are really distributions of Linux.

>not using data

>it's forbidden to talk about Muslims because of recent events and because leftists are sucking their cocks
No. If you can talk about Christians you can talk about Muslims as well. They're almost the same religion except one teaches peace while the other equates peace with war.

This is true, but you'll get banned for racism here.

While I couldn't assemble myself out of a wet paperbag, I don't know what you're trying to tell me here.

This png is PDF.

Figured, because it's a whopping 4MB. Check out the issues of PoCorGTFO that are crazy polyglot quine files. PDF that's also a NES rom etc.

Get on my level.

>Japan is always 10 years ahead of the west
>*still uses windows xp and fax machines*
yeah they're not 10 years ahead lol

I am in a third world country and we are using qr to pay things

Attached: Codigos-QR_MercadoLibre[1].jpg (4032x2664, 956K)

Fax machines is absolutely fucking true, but when it comes to windows XP, the numbers went down hard over the last few years.

These are just machines directly exposed to the internet, but it still went down dramatically.

Attached: jpxp.png (405x678, 41K)

That's an e-mail addressees, how do you pay through it?

Same scan but for w7

Attached: jp7.png (391x936, 59K)

Because why use QR codes for everything when you can have an app for each thing?

What's wrong with fax machines?

same scheme as paypal

>print out document
>feed it into machine
>dial phone
>low quality photocopy comes out other end
>throw away paper
>other person reads and throws away

Attached: QaYqtd7_d.jpg (640x723, 30K)

You know that between printing it out and feeding it into a machine, you can write on the paper with a pen, right?
That's like half the reason to use the fax machine.

True. You can also print, write on it with a pen, take a picture of it on a wood table, print the picture and scan it to email.

>their websites look 20 years old
Did japan know the “””modern””” web is shit all along? Muh javascript frameworks make websites unusable.

It's ancient tech that's been replaced with NFC in places that aren't stuck 10 years in the past.

retard

Attached: 1529881311535.png (305x305, 5K)

how do you make these?

copy down the QR code with pen and paper and scan it with your webcam once you arrive at home

>make a normal QR code
>draw a face in it

QRcodes are awesome. I use them to try and awaken normies without arousing suspicion. Post this at your local Linux User Groups. god willing, we may yet come out victorious.

Attached: 8defa839-bc74-4568-ab72-1cb1eefdc582..png (300x300, 4K)

just max out the error correcting redundancy and then you can fuck with large chunks of it while it remains readable.

purely economic reasons of course.

Attached: 1494460025558.gif (209x180, 1.18M)

Maybe make your interior more attractive or put tables outside?
Serve better coffee?
Free wifi shouldn't be main reason to come to your cafe, but a nice addition

impressive. Dren IS a chore to talk to. Also, how'd ya do it?

Why would you need this retarded system when text recognition is already mainstream? Just write your fucking url in standard font and you're done.

>Why isn't QR codes more mainstream?
lots of security issues, no trust
>I went to japan, and it was every where
they're not very smart
> 10 years ahead
it isn't the 1980s anymore, faggot. they're not ahead or behind.
it's much worse when the qr code is just a link using a shortening service

>security issues
u fucking what

If it has a shortened url in it, with a few carefully placed sharpie dots you can alter it to a url you control in order to phish or install malware or whatever.

It's not 1986 grandpa. They're so far behind it's laughable. While they're having their next pointless meetings, gooks and chinks are lapping them.

Attached: QR_Code_1554417599.png (357x358, 24K)

So does your web browser. Do you use a web browser? I hope you don't due to security issues.

based

QR codes were invented in Japan so naturally that's where they took off

And it's because OCRing hieroglyphs harder than decode QR shit. When using English alphabet however...

based

Hot

How do you create your how QR codes?

Why do NEETs think corporate America doesn't use fax machines?

In russia QR codes are used to chat, pay taxes and e-tickets.

I prefer to die of overwork rather than the latter one...

They do, particularly law offices, but it's still an outdated technology.

mercadolibre is trash, i refuse to use it.

based and QR-pilled

how??? share your wizardry pls

Can you make pic related point to rms.sexy?

I know there's a "in soviet Russia" joke here but I can't point it out

In soviet Russia, QR code scans YOU!
