That sounds pretty cool. Why not just use debian though?

And throw plasma on that bitch
OP on some sad shit rn

Because MX Linux is better "easy" Debian

In all honesty isn't Linux Linux and distros all just use different or in most cases the same app repos but basically you can install whatever on whatever so distro shilling is pointless

Because I use debian.

Isn't that the distro made by some depressed faggots?

enjoy your packages from fukken 1998 bros

yeah, the only important differences are update cycle and package management

The idea is that it's not based on Ubuntu in the event that Canonical ever stops servicing software then it will still have LMDE as a backup (and vice versa).

I do use it, user. It's the patrician choice for an out-of-the-box desktop experience. The comfiness of Mint with the speed and stability of Debian. And without trannies.

Because I'm using MX Linux.

Also what packages/configuration you get out of the box.
And what init system gets used in some cases.

Gentoo fits my autistic purposes more

I just use Debian Debian edition. It has Cinnamon as well. Right now I'm in KDE though. I want to learn to like KDE.

Literally same, but with Ubuntu. I'm kinda slowly getting the appeal, but the thing is other distros like Cinnamon do what KDE wants to do but simpler.

how long 'til they pull a murdock?

because i unironically prefer gentoo

Ubuntu with Cinnamon sounds comfy too. Much nicer than GNOME.

I love Mint and I love Debian. I switched to plain Debian recently in an effort to learn how to manually manage my system better without the help of automated GUIs. I have nothing against GUI automation and tbhh, I'd rather be using LMDE or even regular Mint, but I'm attempting to deepen muh *NIX knowledge one step at a time.

Because I'm not autistic and use windows 10.

I run Debian, not sure what the point of switching to Debian Mint would be

from fukken 2016/2017*
Fixed that for you. And I do enjoy them, nothing ever breaks.

Until you look at distros like NixOS and GuixSD

debian testing has up to date packages, despite being names unstable it runs without issue
upgrade to testing

Because the regular version just works
