Why use NixOS when I can just use their package manager on any other distro?

Because I'm using Ubuntu 18.04

Because my current setup werks

Explain to a newbie brainlet why should I use NixOS instead of Kubuntu.
Go.

Because you need

Shit UX. Guix's is better, but lacks users.

Explain, I'm really interested.

I am too stupid to install it

GuixSD > NixOS

>beta software
The power of GuixSD users

Why should I switch from Arch

Use GuixSD.
Unlike Nix, it's completely libre. It has no blobs whatsoever.

you're not even using nixos faggot your running in a vm

based baremetal only pls

>Unlike Nix, it's completely libre. It has no blobs whatsoever.
Enjoy your no drivers
>arch
Back to plebit, please

>Enjoy your no drivers
I'd rather buy a new computer than be forced to use propietary software.

Because I use gentoo without the intention of being ironic

Buy a 15 years old computer you say, right?

Yes.

what's nixos lmao

because i cant install nvidia drivers without problems

>using nvidia
You deserve this

Only thing you need to know is you need use NixOS. This is enough.

i'm not hobbyist and i actually use my linux for work so i have no time to try some autistic distro

I like Mint so far

Jow Forums BTFO

Really interested, but i think that it is not gonna work for my use cases

>bash 4.4
No thanks. I gentoo, 5.0.4 kernel and 5.0.5 bash

>muh new is good old is bad
Why update if works? Don't fix what isn't broken.

I'm using Guix or else I probably would be. I am considering learning Nix on the side so I can push it on friends and family who wouldn't deal well with Guix's levels of freedom. Transactional upgrades and rollbacks seem useful for less advanced users. Well, for everyone really,

You realize that wireless internet is basically the only thing that ever needs blobs, right? Don't confuse linux-libre and libreboot

Because Fedora SilverBlue is less autistic.

Because I live in the future. Don't be a pussy, install it on baremetal

>Host: VMware
>Uptime: 19m

Looks like you're not really using it faggot explain

>Enjoy your no drivers
While I think it's stupid not to give the user the option of installing proprietary drivers/blobs if they want to, 99% of the drivers used on any computer running Linux today are open source and INCLUDED in the kernel.

Basically NVidia and some Broadcom stuff are the holdouts.

No bully please

Because my T420 is fried

Because I use NixOS unstable git

Why not the stable version?

because its bloated as fuck

Because when I write or change anything in nixpkgs it will be based on the newest version, and because of the way nix works, I can be sure if I have a stable build it stays stable.

>why you not using bloatOS

I've never had anything break using unstable but if I did I could just roll back because it's nix. I have however had a couple packages disappear, one is xpra.

It's more minimal than meme arch

I dont need a declarative system or multiple versions of packages, so I'm using void instead.

>systemd

This

Because I'm not gay.

This image never fails to be retarded. Neck yourself

because I am using Windows 10 Professional

More than based. You actually understand.

Spotted a fag in the Arch stage.

package management was really odd and I just couldn't get used to it but now I'm sure I can but it's too late since I settled on another "meme distro"

This seems to be correct. I actually switched back to Ubuntu from Arch.

You forgot the Kali/Blackarch phase.

Wait and give it some time. Eventually you'll find yourself using some distro, which conventually user friendly.

Because I'm tired of distro hopping and no linux distro, or rather, no OS is perfect so I stick with what I know best(Debian).
