does a non-proprietary keyboard exist?

Attached: image.jpg (742x828, 518K)

Why would they want that, disabling that key is one of the first things I do after installing windows

Nigger, that's a Super key.

Attached: freetards_btfo.png (636x358, 71K)

GNOME is utter shit, but to be fair, even freetards have always hated them.

I binded it easily to open my xubuntu whisker menu, so it works the same exact way.

KDE has it

Does it pop out after installing Linux?

>whisker menu
based

>xubuntu
yikes

I'm having to use a 10 year old computer (til I can save up for a new I found a freebie old mac) and this has been fine. I'm still pretty knew to regularly using Linux

forced updates and candy crush that installs itself after each one

>whisker menu
based
>xubuntu
yikes
>10 year old computer
based
>mac
yikes

i use it for most of my xfce4 bindings
super+e launches emacsclient
super+f launches firefox
super+x closes active window
super+ each number of the keypad snaps windows to the sides.
super+enter launches terminal
super+supr, end, pgdn etc all are opening in thunar different bookmarks
and ill keep adding more

I think input.club/ provide schematics etc for their keyboards

not hiim but what's wrong with xubuntu?
i think the ubuntu+gnome+amazon hate is understandable but i don't see the problem with xubuntu

I aint bitching it was free and I sadly don't have any other option right now. Stuff broke, and don't have the money for new stuff.

super is escape, that's a meta key. retaaaaard
+50 told ya so, level up

escape is escape, you error: unknown filesystem.

Super is super
Meta is alt
Escape is escape

nice

We have that key but use it as a modifier like ctrl or alt.

Shrink your fucking picture next time. I'm not that interested to get the best quality of this pic.

I have one on my thinkpad running corebooted GNU/Linux

Pry that botnet key off your thinkpad

Tear free graphics

>implying this isn't trivial to configure however you want it
>implying you don't need to reboot after installing updates on Linux
>inb4 ksplice show me a distro that actually uses it

You're telling me linux doesn't have vsync? I find that incredibly difficult to accept.

Attached: 13-0004031[1].jpg (1166x656, 86K)

It supposedly does, but every distro tears like a struggling NES for me.

What GPU are you using? Some fare better than others.

I know nvidia is shit, but i915 is supposed to be good and it tears, same with radeon.

It kind of made me wish I never got going on Windows. I've been spoiled by the smoothness.

I have his right now and I don't even have a file manager installed. Firefox does that by itself.

Works on my machine (xfce)

Are you using a compositor? Even Windows doesn't do tearfree desktop without a compositor.

will do mr stallman

This. Or Ctrl+Alt+F{2..7} for instant shell.
Or, a decent shell.
Or interpreted languages like Python and Perl shipped with the OS so you're not stranded with Powershill or batch files.

>implying you don't need to reboot after installing updates on Linux
You don't, proprietard.

Some server distro can even install kernel patches without reboot

>implying you don't need to reboot after installing updates on Linux
only for kernel and libc, other than that you don't need to

>Tux
>not GNU
Shame.

I like how there are so many people here sad about a powershell that isn't a bot hole with hardware integration and people that can use it.

Attached: KEtTx.jpg (830x554, 104K)

>a powershell
What?

It's just old 80s lingo for OS that doesn't want to run like arch.

No. I'm pretty sure it's just some crappy .NET thing Microsoft put in wangblows. Zoomer.

Nah. It's like binding user and supercomputer commands to the shell without having to induct them into the kernel.
Again it's old but i'm talking about CPUs used for more than just browsing old HDs for porn and dumb forums about how you're a loser because of JOOS.
So you don't know and don't care.

Basically editing the registry in a distro of any kinda but going directly to the x86 underside to do it.

You're out of your league this time, jr.

cool, user
just found out about this

I don't use x86. It's not 1992 anymore.

All intel CPUs are x86 platform based instruction sets originally designed by Intel in based on the 8086.

Attached: Tgj4A.jpg (654x981, 135K)

intel graphics doesn't have this problem.

Irrelevant.

I haven't seen this screen in years. Maybe you're computer is broken?

No. It isn't.

Yes it is. It has no relevancy to this discussion. You're just spouting random, irrelevant factoids.

Windows created the shell it uses to make changes to the x86 instructionset without destroying how the OS works.
This is still the only one to do it, because, to be honest the x86 instructionset is a fucking mess.

There's a reason they are the most widely used OS in the world and all your retarded fedora tipping isn't going to alter that.
>Why in the fuck am i still talking to you.

why does it look shooped?

Learn to quote newfag. I don't give a shit about wangblows and x86, since i don't use them.

A home?

>Windows created the shell it uses to make changes to the x86 instructionset without destroying how the OS works.
huh? the instruction set is embedded into the cpu. you can't change it with software.
>to be honest the x86 instructionset is a fucking mess.
good thing we don't have to worry about it then, since no modern software uses x86.
>There's a reason they are the most widely used OS in the world and all your retarded fedora tipping isn't going to alter that.
The reason windows is the most widely used OS in the world is because it comes preinstalled on anything that isn't a mac. you're delusional if you think the general population cares about weather their OS supports an ancient architecture.

>since no modern software uses x86.
A lot of it still does. Unfortunately, x86 is still very popular, mostly among consumers.

>no modern software uses x86.
how little you know

>since no modern software uses x86
It is still the most popular ISA by far.

Most modern software is amd64/x86_64, which is a 64 bit extension for the 32 bit i686 ISA which is i386 plus a few instructions. And of course i386 is a 32 bit extension on the original 16 bit 8086 instruction set.

>having data caps

That's not what extension means.

It extends the instruction set. So it's an extension of it.

Jesus.

What did you want an extension to be, a plugin software module? That's not the only definition.

Just marveling at the stupidity on display. Don't mind me.

Enlighten me, what's wrong with what I said?

The definition.

From Google's answer box:
1: a part that is added to something to enlarge or prolong it; a continuation.

From Merriam-Webster:
1b: an enlargement in scope or operation

x86_64 enlarges the scope of the 32 bit x86 instruction set by adding a new CPU mode, more registers, and many more instructions, while retaining full backward compatibility with 32 and 16 bit operating systems and software.

This is a specific term, you just don't know what you're talking about. Instead of looking up what extension vaguely means in Amerimutt "English", try finishing your comp-sci course.

What the fuck are you even talking about?
Is Englishman your first language?
Jesus it's like you're a raving schizophrenic.
I'm interested, if it's real (even if it's not actually if you're larping and it's at least entertaining)
I tried searching for anything related to what you're talking about but I'm starting to wonder if this is just (you) talking out of your ass as bait.

love

And even then, it's on your terms. Nothing forces you to reboot.

xubuntu is based
