What do you guys think about solar energy?
What do you guys think about solar energy?
Good thing, very good thing.
won't solve shit.We are already at the point where we negative emissions. zero is not enough
Serious question, do you think that we could harness the thermal energy from every person in a country from a thermal energy device and give them an incentive to keep it on?
theyre shit, made out of silicon which is really bad for the environment and take a lot of space and barely produce energy
Wouldn't they need to be plugged in always or something? Or do you mean like while they're in bed?
If you got a house/permanent residence, invest in 5-10KW solar panel. It pays for itself within a decade or two @ current price. If you install it yourself. Self-install is basically installing it on roof/open area.
Virgin Solar
Chad Nuclear
Thank you for your input, Rabbi
It's great for the household. Just use nuclear for the main grid desu, stop being dumb.
Once they hit 50% efficiency for a decent consumer price I'm buying
>do you think that we could harness the thermal energy from every person
Wind mills are far superior
It's fine but wind is cheaper
Has potential to be good, but not yet.
Hopefully this incoming decade something happens regarding the panels' efficiency
Good.
Nope. Nuclear bad. Nuclear has potential of causing cancer of california in 100+ km radius.
Only purpose of those electric stations is to produce raw material for plutonium for bombs
Good for 9-5 businesses, remote homes w/ island mode battery backup, and HVAC. Terrible when a significant amount of grid capacity is made out of it, and will guarantee an increase in power prices due to compensating for intermittency.
LCOE don't interact
It will consume all. Perovskite solar is advancing incredibly fast.

Perovskite solar cells aren't made of silicon. They're made of perovskites which can be painted on at near room temperature
no.
Far too much maintenance, investment and cost with higher failure rate and much more intermittent power source.
ROI for an entry level system is like 2 year pay off. it'll take another 3-5 years for the next level modules
New Jersey mainly uses nuclear energy, and look how they turned out.
Basedlar more like it
Bill Nye would fuck you in the ass. Get your girl's nasty ass dorito infested fingers off of my thinking hat
Useless for baseload, but only mildly harmful if use is limited to 5-10% in the energy mix.
It's like you people want to get to get beaten up by the fuel companies.
I use the sun to heat my water and it works very well.
For electricity? Sure there is market if you wanna explore that.
it kills ants and the reflections cause cancer
