VR headsets

Hello there!~

VR
And after that
AR
After that,
Neural link

and god knows after that

>AR
I want google glass, but actually good.
They were ahead of time, but the idea and design was great.
I regret not being able to buy it, would have become a nice relic eventually.

AR first. Amazon is trying to make the new google glass. And can't you wait for AR ads?

Is there a pornstar that looks like her?

Holodecks. True to god Holodecks as seen in Star Trek. Will make what passes for "V.R" now look like dog shit.

Sexbots

Robot-waifus

Augmented reality with holograms n shit.

Eva Green.

Personally holding out for neural implants.

Boipucci

Isn't that already a thing? Or are you saying it will get even better?

>1980-1990s: computers
Wrong.

Why would anybody want to use augmented reality after virtual reality?

augmented reality would be having your hologram waifu in your grotty damp run down roach infested apartment block, whereas virtual reality would be swapping your grotty damp run down apartment for a malibu beachfront property + your waifu.

AR seems like it will develop along side VR, and will enhance humanity as cyborgs outside of the matrix so to speak for occupations that require a human operator ( whatever datasets would be useful in your field of view ) or remote operation of machinery, but leisure and pleasure will be inside the matrix, sheeeit, perhaps people will work jobs inside VR.

Just think people farm money in mmos, there will be VR jobs i think. People may never need to leave a 5m x 5m mini apartment in months.

Just an empty room with a fold down bed, a bathroom and a small kitchen.

That shits coming, once they can stream the data / 3d processing wirelessly from a pocket device like a phone it'll come, the headwear only needs to be the display.

Screens could be a pair of shades/goggles/glasses in the next 20 years easy. Think of phones, smartwatches and powered earbuds now, wearable screens are coming in the next decade for sure.

The real shocker is when high fov, no screen door VR hits, which i suspect is way sooner than people think. Be interesting seeing how good/bad this valve headset is.

are a meme, ive been saying this for years, they wont look like what everybody expects.

Sexbots will literally look like a damned flesh mannequin, they will be a template for AR/VR enhanced sexbots. A haptic/perhiperal for AR/VR

Its much cheaper to make a 5k sexbot and use a 5k AR rig tracked over the plain mannequin than it is to build a 100k sexbot.

Think bald articulated robotic realdoll, that you look at with special shades on that now looks like JOI from blade runner.

Before they can build realistic sexbots, VR will have enslaved the human race, people think fortnite and facebook etc are bad now, oh boy, its going to be insane, i guess the possitive is everybody will probably have their own little cyberspace niche.

I'd like to shoot a big load of my genetic material into that mouth.

Widespread commercialism will skim over VR, but AR is much more likely to take precedence as the "next big thing"

(1/2)
AR has several more uses in a myriad of industries when compared to VR. As it stands right now, VR has been delegated to an entertainment tool with some educational/training benefits. While some big tech companies have flirted with the idea of developing VR apps, generally there isn't a race for innovation. I'd say the breakthrough of wireless all-in-one HMDs is a huge plus though. That being said most of the interest is from gamers, streamers who benefit from having gamers as their main audience, and the occasional educational developer.

Also the argument that people will adopt the virtual world as some sort of utopia where people can even make a living off doing normal real life stuff but inside the vr space is flawed. VR Spaces are not seen as luxury forms of escapism but rather a neat novelty form of enhanced brain stimulation and social interaction by people who are likely already familiar with virtual chatrooms. VR Chat has been around for two years and prices for HMDs have gone lower, and while there are is a significant amount of people having fun with it, as it currently stands it is by no means a realistic competitor of climbing the social ladder in real life in terms of life fulfillment-- especially if we're talking about normie demographics. Looking at how it's went down in the past for conventional digital worlds (Roblox, Second Life, Playstation Home, etc.) people have managed to make money of being a player for these games but it is by no means significant enough for swams of people to quit their day job for it. Hell, most people who do become full time youtubers only do so if they consistently get 100k+ views on their daily/weekly uploads.

AR is a more realistic step in the next direction. With big bulky HMDs like the Microsoft HoloLens? Probably not; but AR tech can be utilized via phones (without having to jurry rig an HMD mind you), glasses, cameras, car windshields, etc.

The scope of how AR can augment society spans more than mere entertainment.

Most of the utilitarian benefits come from the idea of people having real life Heads Up Displays, where information can be streamed to the user. For people in high-hazard jobs like astronauts, divers, even construction workers, crucial telemetry such as oxygen levels and sea level would make life a lot easier. Managers or mission controllers can stream instructions to the user on the fly.

For the everyday consumer, AR tech is already being utilized in commercial products. Sephora lets customers test how makeup would look on them through their phone app and in-store terminals. Eventually we'll get to the point where people will be bale to try on clothes without the simulated preview looking hilariously bad.

I predict that if the technology gets smaller and more streamlined, it'll just blend into the background and be a normal and expected part of every day technology; which is exactly how these types of things catch on.

everyone needs to watch dennou coil and see what the AR revolution will do to society

google glass but actually good

what was the condition diagnosed for being able to see the entire pupils?

i'm ok with ar glasses but not from google.
I won't spy for them for free nor do I want to be spied on 24/7 at home and on the street.
google is doing the same thing as gvts but sell the data to who the fuck has money, it's too nefarious for my tastes.

Man, what I wouldn't give to cum in her throat while not breaking eye contact.

>Holodecks as seen in Star Trek

Never ever.
