What did they mean by this?

>1556 hour
>already bad sector

seems like is a green drive always park itself or refurb drive.

That USB drive would power down after only 2 minutes idle. I didn't even know it was happening since I thought everything was set to never power down. Evidently, some roll back years ago reverted that setting just for that drive. Which is probably why I'll be replacing it soonish. Powering cycling will kill HDDs much faster. Plus, being a USB drive, it is more susceptible to power fluctuations and there were problems prior to me getting a UPS.

>not hiding serial numbers
I'm literally in your PCs right now

thats not how that works

Why are so many 3TB drives defective?

>Power On Count: 9323

>not setting it to 0 minutes
Why?

That's a toasty SSD
Hope your not using an m.2 cover for it. Might be why it's so hot.

Nothing to worry about, I'm sure.

Question: the 2nd HDD in my laptop has been bothering me because it's slightly louder than the CPU fan. Apparently the drive I'm using has 2 disks. I've been wondering how much quieter are drives with only 1 disk? I can't exactly afford a 1 TB SSD and I think it would be stupid to store music, porn and a few movies on it. Would a NAS be a better option? But only some ghetto setup like an RPi since dedicated NASes are fucking expensive for what they are.

but he is, your browser downloaded his comment so he literally is in your pc

There's something wrong with your disk or it isn't secured properly and is vibrating. Consider backing up everything more often and set aside some cash for a replacement.

I have a 3TB drive that was only on for like a month with a couple power ons and it suddenly got 3 current pending sectors. 3TB drives just seem to have worse reliability than other sized drives.

There may be something really stupid going on with their PCB design.

>1844 power on count
why????

>just under 69TB of storage

That's a lot...a LOT of porn, user.

Posting stats from Hard Disk Sentinel even I love Shizuku.

Is it too much when you bought those plastic HD cases for discs of your back up of photos and music... and your old JAV and US porn archives you just couldn't delete? You can just slip them in one of these USB readers to check them from time to time.

I remember a friend of mine said that, to avoid 3 TB drives. Do 5TB drives have the same problem? Or 6TB, any of the over 4TB ones?
Thinking of upgrading one of my old 1TBs to a 4TB or higher.

I would but they took them all away.

Yeah. I'm glad my compsci major friend with a job in the field told me to avoid the 3TB ones. My current PC is one I bought from him when he wanted a higher end one. I just put in a new graphics card last year. Might put in a new SSD just for Steam games given how big installs are getting. I had to move / backup Doom to another drive to avoid re-downloading it all.

Has anyone jumped on those new SSDs that look like RAM? I'm still sticking with the older SSD style. I just think it's kinda neat full TB drives are getting that fucking small.

I got one in that shape/form factor, the 950 Pro. I have some SATA ones in that form factor too - one is from SK Hynix and one from Samsung

Damn, those M.2 drives really do get toasty huh

> JAV porn
have none sorry

what is wrong with that?

NVMe for OS.
SATA RAID for local storage.
