I have a t440p, its great and everything but I am getting bored of how it looks. Its also too heavy to lug to school every day and back.
I'm looking for a new laptop. Currently I have my eyes on google chromebook pixel 2 LS. These have i7's with 16gb of ram and they look great, also since they are a old chromebook, none of the usual tards that buy chromebooks are looking for used ones so they can be picked up for super cheap.
I will coreboot it and stick linux on it. That brings me to by next point, as you can see. I am running Pop_OS! I have been distro hopping to fuck trying to find something that just clicks for me but I have not been able to.
Tried, manjaro i3 (also considering trying with xfce). debian gnome (meh). fedora gnome (boring) and freebsd (nothing fucking supports it lmao). Now i'm on Pop gnome and its using 1.7gb of ram at idle, and its based off ubuntu. so idk about that one.
I'm looking for a fairly simple to customise, resource efficient, justWerksTM disro, can anyone recommend one?
debian netinstall can be resource efficient and justwerks, if you get a good DE or figure out how to live the window manager/terminal no frills based lifestyle
dicked around with some evashit for fun. That contrast would prolly destroy my brain after too much use but its cool. Might turn down saturation n maybe contrast. But then is it really eva at that point?
I've seen yours before it gives me an eye-orgasm everytime. font is termux right? though it doesn't scale good in bigger screens this one also looks cool cringe t440p fellow, why would you think on using that piece of shit distro? Also stop redditspacing retard
dad got it for mom and my brother so i said fuck it

It's terminus, only because I literally don't know any other good pixel fonts and I've been using it since 2010. Also don't know how to format other font types besides xfonts in the Xresources file. So im stuck wit it
Icon theme, font, WM theme, taskbar theme. Themes, themes, and more custom themes.

i tried herbstluftwm yesterday. it's kinda neat if you like more manual window organization, like with focus on predetermining window layouts. felt mildly to tedious after a while. with i3 in middle, dwm would probably be opposite of that philosophy.
Bentley Ortiz
thanks mate

i want to see ricers defy gravity and make gtk2/3 widgets have the authentic visual hierarchy of win32, otherwise it looks off to say the least

great rice. i like it, but the notification spot seems odd. clean. minimal. nice. very cool win rice. whoa, i like it. its like a movie. are those all feh windows? pretty neat. i love this. looks great. >i tried herbstluftwm yesterday. >felt mildly to tedious after a while. with the herbstclient dump command u can bind frame layouts. also adding splitting frames left and top helps. hlwm single window floating is also easy to add in.
Gentoo is basically as easy as installing arch, and arch is basically as easy as installing Ubuntu, except running commands instead of clicking check boxes. Using and maintaining it is another story.
Blake Cruz
Yeah. In general Gentoo is an interesting thing to play around with, but I can't imagine using it long-term as a daily driver.

that piece by Satie is amazing. did you hear it first in haruhi?
Still got a bit of patching to do before this dwm is where I want it. So far it's a tad glitchy, and nothing will dethrone bspwm for me, but I enjoy it.
kill yourselves pedo scum, you should all be in prison
nice
Fuckin 10/10 dude. The font, the colors, the Jow Forums style, Firefox rice?? Really blows away everything else ITT
I saw you in the other thread with Rust? I'm down with those languages but your vim config is fuckin nutty
bspwm all the way. You don't even know what you're missing. You'll be saying "i3-gaps who?"
7/10 desktop but what the hell is that music library
absolutely disgusting
10/10 to be a young buck with a fresh windows install
no im just a fan of Satie. your colors are very comfy. u know u could remove scrollbars? or do u want them? >Fuckin 10/10 dude. The font, the colors, the Jow Forums style, Firefox rice?? Really blows away everything else ITT wow, thanks.
It's a thinkpad hooked up to a docking station that connects it to a second monitor. The only thing I use the thinkpad screen for when it's like that is fullscreen background programs so I didn't include it in the scrot
Just Courier on bars/menus and Terminus for terminal
