Buy a used 1080 off ebay. They're super cheap and the risk of getting a blown out mining card is overstated. It's really the way to go.

It's a growing trend but for 80% of games especially half baked india games you're better off with nvidia. It's also noworth noting driver updates every 2-3 months may or may not have single digit gains in FPS in some games but it won't fix botched titles like AC games.
