Display Managers are bloat by your definition, and unironically tend to cause more problems than they solve.

if you can run the distro like that...sure

Isn't lightdm bloat?

The least bloated combination is not using computer at all

it's 2mb ~ 5mb less bloated than slim, so nope

I3 vs dwm? Currently use i3 and love it

>gnome-tier of bloat versus non-bloat

dwm has sane window management

id suck someones cock for a text-based wm that could run gaymes in a (new) window

You'd suck someone's cock just to suck a cock, though.

why do you need a desktop manager anyway?

[ "$(tty)" = "/dev/tty1" ] && ! pgrep -x i3 >/dev/null && exec startx

here's your lockscreen bro

Why do you faggots need minimalist distros? To save battery? What for if you never leave the house? I use KDE Plasma on my laptop and it lasts 7 hours. Why do you insist in having less and worse voluntary?

because you are a faggot

'minimalist linux' is jerkoff term, but having shit open in tiling window manager replaces me 2 or 3 1080p 22.5" screens with one 14inch 1600x900 shitpanel in terms of productivity compared to the regular Windows-like GUI

I can use urxvt, tmux and vim on KDE too you know
minimalist distros are just mental masturbation especially since the dorks using them don't even use know vim lmao

>Why do you faggots need minimalist distros?
because less memory usage means more firefox tabs
and more firefox tabs... more porn

i3 is bug free for me. everything else has had issues. it also happens to be minimal and customizable

Care to spoonfeed me where I'm supposed to put that script? My guts tells me it's in any of those bash-related directories inside /etc, buuuuut I'm not really sure.

This, just do an autologin tty and start x from .profile

But you don't really need it

Looks like it goes in .profile, or .bashrc, or wherever you dump your run-on-login commands

at the bottom of ~/.bash_profile config file
replace i3 with your wm/de

>using xorg
Enjoy your bloat. Use rootston in wlroots for the ultimate minimal experience.

and don't forget to put
exec de_name_here
at the beginning of ~/.xinitrc so you shit actually starts after logging in or simply running startx.

which needs xorg-xinit package btw.

I followed this post and it worked like a charm.
>from 80k memory usage to 75k
not gentoo-tier of bloat-free... but its still something

why the hell do you need a display manager? it's actually less of a pain in the ass to use startx with dwm since you can autostart applications though .xinitrc

this is better:
if [ -z "$DISPLAY" ] && [ "$(tty)" = "/dev/tty1" ]; then
exec startx ~/.config/xinitrc > ~/.local/share/xorg/startx.log 2>&1
fi

also, physlock is better than i3lock

>why the hell do you need a display manager?
Because I'm a fucking mongoloid.

Forgot to put screenshot like a mongo. Still, is there any way to get it even lower? My current average is 69k ~ 71k memory usage.
