AFAIK our inflation is fine, currency is like that for some reason.

Wages in entry-level positions are somewhat low ($1000 for a entry-level webdev) but they stabilize the higher you go up in experience and skills (just speaking fluid English and knowing Linux can nearly duplicate your wage). But the tech sector in Chile isn't that big so you just hit a ceiling in which people go to work abroad, in the US or elsewhere. I want to complete 3 years in my current job and then look for work in the US in some mid-size company in a comfy place (not SF or NY).

No, I take home $1050 on the check weekly (assuming 40 hours).
The skilled trades are largely overlooked as a lucrative career choice.

Because "middle class" jobs are exceptionally rare for internet weirdos between the ages of 18 and 35.

Kind of, it depends on the work you want to put in, there's a lot of jobs no one wants or even cares to try to understand. It also can take some planning which many people don't want to do.

Good point, there's a lot of factors that go into this, location, taxes etc. I have a decent house and pay about 1200/month mortgage, I'd be pinching pennies in San Fran and for me that's not worth it.

You would be making 3x as much.
