>muh AYYYYMD "fine wine" >muh 3.5GB >muh driver gimping >"Y-Y-You'll regret not buying our housefires in the long run!!!" And yet the 970 still offers the same performance as a 290 at stock, can overclock much higher and uses half as much power.
Op is a faggot. nvidiadrones are fags who can only play on 1080p, i was playing on 1440p on my 290x lmao. you guys stutterted at 1080p ultra.
enjoy being poor you nodick and go back to /LGBT
Landon Jackson
Literally all I see is AMD street shitters talking about how their cards age better. Don't try and change the narrative Sanjay.
Carson Cook
I don't understand why you would even use any of these low-end cards, why would you settle for less? I purposely got a 2080ti so I don't have worry about these types of problems. Stop making bad decisions, it's clear what's good and what isn't. Wake up.
Too bad all the decent games run bettern on the 290 than on the VRAMlet one.
Adam Watson
>actual good games run better on AMD >shitty racing games, multiplayer shooters, AssCreed and failed reboots of 90s franchises Meanwhile the Nvidia side is full of high quality, high IQ single player experiences like The Witcher 3, Prey, Hitman 2 and Metro Exodus. Really makes you think about what kind of people AYYYYYYMD is targeting with their products.
The Witcher 3 and Prey are within margin of error. Also >Prey >Hitman 2 >Metro slav shite >High quality, high IQ experiences Put more effort into your baits.
Jaxon Green
>OUR CARDS WILL AGE BETTER, YOU'LL SEE >*5 years later* >N-NOBODY CARES ABOUT O-OUTDATED CARDS kek, I have a rx 480 in my system right now, you drones are fucking retards. Seriously.
>the games that run faster on nvidia are bad! Not all of those games are bad, but certainly fall between mediocre semi-annual AAA assdump and straight up bad.
Dylan Nelson
>games made with ngreedia gimpworks collaboration work better on nobreedia Wtf, I hate AMD now !
Camden Perez
Even if you subjectively find that to be the case right now at this instant, do you seriously think that's always going to be the case over the lifespan of a graphics card?
Adam Wilson
>games sponsored by amd work better on rayyydeon space heaters Wtf, I hate Nvidia now !
Christopher Ward
>hardware unboxed
Bentley Green
Of course not, depends of the kind of games released, if they're "sponsored" by Nvidia or AMD, etc. Also depends on the vendor actually giving a fuck about the card, releasing periodic updates for it and supporting the games I care about.
Luke Foster
They're constantly called 'amd unboxed' on this board. Now they make a video that is favourable to nvidia. Which company is it that they're shilling for, exactly?
Sebastian Robinson
>literally fail to prove that nvidia is somehow better than AMD Bravo, based nvidiot.
Elijah Smith
still using a 970 memecard today, paired with a ryzen 2700X waiting another GPU gen to upgrade.
Connor Baker
Nvidiots are brand loyalist manchildren who can't handle any criticism and support nvidia's anti-consumer behavior.
Aiden Bell
What poojet? Im running 1440p 144hz on 2080ti guess you can still run your 290 rebrandeon at 1440p 15hz
Grayson Rogers
>higher is better uhhh for which card
Sebastian Hall
I use AYYYYMD because I'm a lunix fag, if I was a super cool gaymer I'd use intel/novideo.
Easton Butler
Friendly reminder: >thermi actual housefire >wooden screws >3.5 jewery >gimpworks (fuck the consumer, but fuck AMD even more) >garbage dx12 support >driver gimping >legacy cards >ray tracing (2 games) meme And the list goes on and on. Corporate bootlickers will defend this.
Luis White
I wasn't arguing that nvidia are better (I have a radeon card), I was pointing out that amd work with game developers too (which often leads to favourable results for their hardware). I also find that the whole gimpworks thing is blown way out of proportion, even when I had a geforce card I would always turn gameworks effects off because they were just too expensive. You're not forced to use them. I see them as optional extras for people who have the overhead, or people in the future replaying the game on newer hardware that can easily manage it.
Gabriel White
>I paid extra for gay tracing >bought the worst price/performance generation of gpu's in recent history >2 games Ha hahahahahahaha. The way you were meant to be played, am I right ?
Anthony Sanchez
>all these supposed "problems" >still matches or outperforms AMD "competition" Nvidia literally don't even have to try. Wow!
Levi White
>outperforms Whoa, you get 7-8 more fps on average on nvidia shillworks games. Fucking amazing, wtf I want to sponsor companies that hate consumers now !
Adrian Robinson
>3% slower >it's somehow faster I see.
William Butler
Stock versus stock. AMD cards can't overclock for shit, whereas you can easily get another 20%+ performance out of Maxwell through overclocking.
Josiah Richardson
> generic benchmarks from a shitty youtube channel >world of tanks >fortnite >total shit >warframe >justcause 4 Wow so this is what bad teeth poorfags play today Why you have to be so retarded, just neck it you filthy subhuman. This is why we have only shitty throwaway games nowadays
Christian Barnes
>generic benchmarks from a shitty youtube channel I thought that AMD Unboxed was on the official AYYYYYMD fanboy approved outlet list? Have they been excommunicated from the cult for this transgression?
Grayson Nguyen
>Maxwell can't beat a card over a year older
Remember lads, the 290 was a 780 competitor.
Wyatt Jackson
7 more fps for 200 more dollars &)
Brody Davis
I don't watch american or generica shitty youtube Benchmarks, if you want good source of information go to an actual site with people that know what they are doing and not just unboxing pseudo computer scientists And even though i prefer amd over nvidia everytime they are equal, your retarded /v/ermin terms don't apply to me Also fyi the gtx9xx series didn't compete against the r9 2xx series but rather the r9 3xx and fury series, the 390 amd is about 15% faster than the 290
Michael Brooks
Average overclock for hawaii is 1150mhz.
Jace Brown
The 970 is 3% slower overall. Learn to read graphs. Anyhow it's margin of error territory.
Henry Carter
Bro buy that 2080Ti to get the victory royale in Fortnite and World of Tanks.
Colton Ward
They corrected it with a reupload, OP is a tard. In the updated video, because they did the math wrong, the 970 is 1% faster than the 290 in the games tested. The were further behind than that 4 years ago, so the AMD memewine is just a couple of % benefit in a few years which could simply be better drivers.
Dominic Carter
The 970 came out almost a year after the 290, and its main competition was the 390, not the 290 or 290X. The 290 originally came out one month after the 780Ti, which is what it competed with.
Connor Kelly
5 years ago 970 was faster now it's 3% slower. So AMD does age better.
its literally marketing though >quick guys what does AMD have that Nvidia doesn't >more VRAM? >good be sure to market that at all times >even though the performance is worse and it runs hotter at the same prices? >lets just hope the idiots buy it up under the vague "future"-proofing
Easton Morales
How can you even say that you don't have to worry about anything? You ONLY have 1080ti, not even 2080ti! Go buy 3080ti yesterday. Or are you a poorfag and can't afford novideo titan RTX TI 4000? Reconsider your life choices, poorfag.
$329 970 is 3% slower than 1 year older $300 gpu after 970 release. How the fuck is it not fine wine?
Joseph Gray
I'm sure it does - the point is hawaii overclocks more than you think once its not on that awful leaf blower and pushing the memory north of 1500mhz gives considerably more bandwidth than the 970 can achieve. A 390 (bear in mind there is no publicaly available reference model) will rival a 980 these days.
Alexander Walker
It was both, you drone. The Fury flops were priced way higher than the 970, and since AYYYYYYMD clung onto Hawaii for dear life right up until the RX 480 came along (and offered no better performance, but was slightly less of a housefire), it was the product competing in that price range. The 390 was the exact same GPU with double the VRAM, which we've already established is irrelevant, since the 290 already had more VRAM and doesn't benefit from it.
You're literally trying to say that it's Nvidia's fault that AYYYYYYYYYYYYMD can't produce anything new and had to stick their shitty, out of date housefire back in for another round.
>1 year older $300 gpu LOL now you fags are literally trying to rewrite history. The R9 290 launched at $399.
>muh memory bandwidth Hawaii was never bandwidth-limited to begin with. And sure as fuck not at 1080p like the testing in the OP is done at (which is all cards of that class can realistically handle in modern games). Swing and a miss, buddy.
