Most manufactures aren't even putting out warrantees that long on QLC drives. Trying to future proof that hard almost never works out well, especially when you're talking about the earliest iterations of tech. The challenge is based on the previous block of transactions as well as the transactions that form the new block. If the challenge is completed, the block is added to the blockchain and it becomes the basis for the next challenge.
The blockchain is therefore a public ledger that records all transactions that take place within a cryptocurrency in terms of addresses. By looking at the blockchain you can see how much money a particular address had at any moment in time.
For transactions to be validated, there need to be miners around to generate new blocks. If there are fewer miners then transactions will be validated more slowly, and if there are no miners then your transactions will never actually take place.

All transactions are put in a list, that list is basically encrypted with some bullshit calculation, then added to the last list. That bullshit calculation uses the last list. Considering multiple people are doing that calculation, it's easy to see if it's true or not. There is no server, that list is shared. That list is the blockchain.
I'm sure I got some things wrong, but that's the gist I think.

Meh. Somebody's got to beta test it. Keep in mind that those benches are largely from when it's near empty. The fuller the drive, the more you're faced with the actual speed instead of the SLC trick. Presumably you're paying ~2x the price of a 500gb so you can actually use the space.

Blockchain is generally a lot more reliable than you seem to think. The main risk is if more than 50% of the world wide mining power is managed by one entity at any given point, which is how intentional changes/forks are instituted, but that's why mining is resource intensive to the point of being a significant chunk of a countries total power consumption, rather than just another little client running almost passively on your pc.

As many as the miner can get access to. Miners want many transactions in a block because leftover currency that is not sent to a particular address can be claimed by the miner who succeeds in adding it to the blockchain as a reward.
It's typical to leave a small transaction "fee" of a few pennies to encourage miners to verify the transaction.

The math problem is usually a hash function. The particular algorithm is decided by the cryptocurrency itself - Bitcoin uses SHA-256 while Ethereum uses ethash.
The goal is for the result of the hash function to be less than the result of the hash function for the previous block.
It's essentially impossible to guess what input will result in a particular output if the crypto uses a good hash function, so miners must simply do trial and error to find an input that works.

There's this configuration file, that's about ~30KiB in size, needless to say it's very important, a backup copy need to stay on site.
Due to certain circumstance (Someone keep stealing the USB flash drive) a physical copy is needed in case of system restart.

Fragmentation doesnt matter with SSDs because they can read from any place of the storage with no problems.

Instead defragging it run TRIM which is what you use for SSDs.

For a NAS, I don't think just straight-up EXT4 would be wise. It's a fine filesystem for sure, but it doesn't have the sort of long-term longevity that you'd want for a storage system. ZFS would make a lot more sense, as it has built-in volume management, software RAID, integrity protections, bitrot protection, etc. It can be a bit inflexible. I recommend Ubuntu, as you can install ZFS on that very easily.
No idea what BAFTA is. I assume you mean Btrfs? That works a lot like ZFS, and is available on practically any Linux system. Very practical and has the usual strong integrity guarding you'd expect for such a robust filesystem. Only problem is that there was a long term bug where parity RAID (5 or 6) would corrupt your data. No idea if they managed to fix it or not, but if you plan on using Btrfs, just use some configuration other than parity RAID.
Don't worry about using it with different filesystems. From my understanding, it shouldn't matter at all. Whether you're sharing with Samba, SFTP, sshfs, NFS, etc, you should just be able to do it without having to make sure the client's OS has compatibility with the server's filesystem.

I'm sure others will have their own suggestions, but that's my advice.

ICC profiles should be for individual monitors, not groups of monitors like U2415. There will be small differences between U2415's. Those profiles probably just don't align 100%, but the difference should be small.

Is 4k worth for programming on a 15.6" laptop? I've ordered a Full HD Thinkpad X1 Extreme that is being replaced because of a defect, and I wonder whether I should shell out some more $ to get the 4k version.
