I am an African American woman interested in learning programming. I feel that there is far to much white privilege in the programming community, and want to increase diversity in the programming field. I also am aware that because I am black I can obtain a programming job far easier than whitey.
What are the best resources to begin learning how to code? (I am looking at code academy currently)
Skillshare is a website where people create courses based on their skillset in order to enlighten the studentbase. All you need to access this is either $100 usd a year or a monthy fee. The classes from what I know are mostly videos. Sorta like an educational youtube.
Matthew Sullivan
>100$ a year. How are black people supposed to afford that? Skillshare is racist!
John Young
Join the yang gang and you'll be able to afford it by 2020.

I feel like this is something that I could just find on youtube without having to pay. In order to keep my H1-B active I have to be currently employed so I need to be hired soon.
With skill share i can start coding in about a week?
