Technology

Is it just me or has technology not really improved since 2013?

Depends on your definition of "technology".

Just U

This. Technology is an umbrella term for many things.

It's always just you OP.

Fuckin' weirdo.

yeah but in terms of consumer stuff i would say we had a big trow back because the whole crypto mining thing, prices went unreasonable up by it and so production and innovation stagnated imo for a while

>for a while
Yeah if for a while is literally a decade. And crypto wasn't the only reason.
Consumer shit is fucked everything else has made massive improvements.

>Consumer shit is fucked everything else has made massive improvements.
we went from expensive products with the ability to repair and replace yourself to trow away products. and i am thinking specially of RAM and GPU prices.
>Yeah if for a while is literally a decade.
more about 7 years
yeah it's bin bad for a while.
Smartphones and Tablets was a big mistake desu

Definitely not just you, even when looking back on stuff from 2014, everything seems so old.

>The evil internet funny money made things expensive
>Actually believing corporate lies
Peak NPC line of thought, next you will say the cryptofags are causing climate change

No it has improved thanks to AMD
>2013
>4 cores at most on a mainstream cpu
>2019 8 cores at most with 10 and 12 cores coming on a mainstream cpu coming this year

Well, they definitely contribute to it since they use lots of energy to "print money"

i don't believe in climate change
it's kike invented to push for more left leaning politics to take over because otherwise
>the world will burn and we will all drown
or something
but have you tried to buy a GPU in the last couple of years?
redpill me on the real cause of companies manufacture less of product x/y which people would buy

>redpill me on the real cause of companies manufacture less of product x/y which people would buy
Are you fucking retarded? To please shareholders. There is nothing more to it. No fucking niggers, kikes, or whatever night time story you want to believe in. Customers will pay any price if marketing is good enough and so they push up prices to appease shareholders.

>(((shareholders)))
alright shlomo, nothing to see there i guess

>literal late stage capitalism gud jews bad
You need to go back.

Climate change, whether it exists or not, I concur is just validation for the government to keep existing and that pisses me off.

In a lot of ways, the government is obsolete and just doesn't need to exist anymore. There are free-market solutions to almost everything the government offers and the things that the government offers are overly expensive and poorly managed.

Even if everything were figured out and there were no more crimes, the government would insist on staying around because of NATIONAL SECURITY and CLIMATE CHANGE. Pls gib us billions of dollars per year, k thx

Dumbest post of the century, congratulations.

fuck off socialist

More like 2008.

At least I'm not an anarchist Lmao

I'd rather deal with an anarchist. At least they aren't soicucks who are willing to sit around and wait for a dystopian, oppressive future to arrive.

>implying there's anything worse than a soci

This post would make sense if you posted before Ryzen came out.
CPU core counts on mainstream are improving in leaps and bounds.

>((((((free-market solutions))))))
Fuck off you absolute glow in the dark nigger.

And consumer software still refuses to use them.
I agree it's much needed competition especially in servers, but for consumers basically nothing changed except now they got more cores idling all day long because of pajeet tier "cOdErS".

If you are talking about hardware, yes, but not much.
Software, absolutely not. It's a fucking shit show.

>i don't believe in climate change
>redpill me on
Jow Forums brainlets should be permab& from all 4channel 2bh

NPCs having slap fights about their least favorite political dead horse is technology.

>has technology not really improved since 2013?
I assume you mean consumer technology since that's all Jow Forums likes to fucking talk about. No, it has improved and continues to do so, but at rapidly decelerating pace. The lag in improvements you are noticing is more from a lack of new innovations diffusing into the wider consumer market. Most improvements seem to be focused around already existing technologies, upcoming examples can be DDR5 and 7nm, and as manufacturing processes get smaller and smaller there will be greater tradeoffs and limitations to the potential efficiency increases that will have to be overcome by new innovations.
It is also likely that many in the tech industry are sensing another coming recession and are hesitant to invest into expensive production with no guaranteed return. A lot of corporations in tech have been booming for a while now and although that initially seems like a good sign, it also signals a bust that's been long waiting and arguably overdue. How much increases in productivity and consumer workarounds like planned obsolescence can help in delaying what might be inevitable, I do not know, but it has worked wonders so far.

Jow Forums has always been full of Jow Forums brainlets. Thankfully the topic of conversation is generally limited to non-political subjects so its not too obvious.

it hasnt improved since 2009; in very measurable ways it has actually gotten worse.

climate change is absolutely real
look at yearly average temperature.
what is debatable is the extent to which human activity contributes (it absolutely does, dont even fucking try), how fast it is occuring, and how it will change in the near to long term, and what the consequences will be.
as an ecofasict im really hoping ocasio cortez and the green new deal can get the ball rolling to do somehing about it.
if by "pol" you mean libertarians, sure.
bootlickers are a new thing.

Things seem more or less the same as they did in 2013 imo. Like there’s been a few small changes but nothing major. The ps4 released in 2013 and still feels modern.

I think is because most things are done on the internet right know, and that doesn't really require a lot of computing power.
