good riddance

i wonder what the lesson here is... maybe all browsers suck?

>why would anyone want to moderate their content REEE

source?

wouldnt the content belong to the extension? like mozilla isnt hosting the comments on their site, they are hosting an extension that lets your browser connect to the dissenter site and view the comments hosted there

there is already a fucking thread for this, fuck off

Fire/Fighting lmao

>it's just a stupid extension nobody uses, dumb goy
>also we're banning it

It's like the Streisand effect is having sex with itself

Isn't this essentially the same as an ISP blocking you from accessing specific sites it disagrees with? Technically you're using their infrastructure, but it's still pretty fucked

Pretty sad Tbh. IDC about Gab that much, but Dissent is a genuinely cool concept. Just because of the fact that you don't have to make a separate account for every shitty website to comment on it.

It hit the bump limit.

>Dissenter Extension has been disabled on addons.mozilla.org
>Users who have previously installed your add-on will be able to continue using it
>Please submit a self-hosted version and distribute the signed file yourself.
I don't see a problem here

Gab seems to be a social networking site for Jow Forumstards. Probably this is the reason they blocked the extension.

They obviously removed it for ideological reasons.
But by this logic, they should remove Jow Forums extensions too.

You can install extensions manually you know.

Just download it first

10 Reasons Against Free Speech, And That's A Good Thing

If you do that you'll have to manually enable the extension every time you start the browser.

>enable dev mode
>load unpacked extension

So why can't this be a userscript? The extension was implemented like shit anyway.

>private organizations exercise right to ban content using their platform
Find the flaw

I literally installed dissenter onto firefox over this just to piss them off. I know mozilla would hate everything about me if they so much as looked at me or suspected I had guns, so I continue to use their browser just to spite them. If they start locking things down though I'll have to switch to icecat I guess.

>Jow Forums makes botnet extension and shills it on Jow Forums
>Mozilla doesn't allow botnet extension on AMO
>Jow Forums comes back to Jow Forums to complain about getting their botnet banned

You have an entire board just for you. Everyone on Jow Forums already told you this shit was a literal botnet weeks ago. What else did you expect? Please go back to your echo chamber.

I mean, it is a botnet, but it's not MORE of a botnet than most of the other extensions you can download. I don't see why this one in particular had to be banned.

organizations dont have rights you fucking statist faggot

is that another pokemon with pikachus dumb stupid expression

/thread

imagine defending this
lmao fucking commie niggers

The internet is going to end up like Germany during the Cold War.

What's communist about defending this? A private organisation is fully entitled to manage content they host

>Gab bans and censors content from their own platform
>angry when they get censored and banned from other platforms

Attached: t_h_o_n_k.jpg (512x498, 44K)

Is there site broken? I can't make an account. I fill out the info and captcha then when I click the register button it just spins forever.

>Is there site broken?
their*

>I don't see a problem here
In general, browsers should be agnostic. Just because something doesn't align with their ideology doesn't mean they should kick it out. If you don't see the problem with that, then you're part of the fucking problem.

>their platform
until now, browsers weren't regarded as platforms. they're a tool, for viewing the world. they should be neutral. but now we know that they aren't, so we'll have to fight for neutrality. kinda sucks, but was probably inevitable once normies entered the tech world.

yeah, they do. not bill of rights rights, but they have rights. don't be an imbecile.

In that case I don't feel bad.

>mozcucks and chromebots actually defending this shit
Fucking pathetic.

>you don't have to make a separate account for every shitty website to comment on it.
most shit websites use third party disqus

Gab is not Jow Forums and it doesn't ban content it disagrees with. They believe in the first amendment and only ban content that violates it. Stop spreading lies. And also stop the absolute cuck argument that companies can do what they want with their products. While true, it's not helpful. So fucking what they can? It doesn't mean you have to take it in the ass, imbecile.

hate speech, fake news and disinformation, terrorist propaganda, spam, pornography, and copyright infingement.
they ban hentai and other legal but "objectionable" material
>"mostly" open source open and collaborative organizations betray their ideals
or
>third party device acessory/parts/app suppliers (not using "their platform") sued out of existence by apple
this is an illegal expropriation of the commons, and of privately owned property on third party "platforms"

>lolis violate the first amendment
OH NO

>Chrome & Mozilla ban the Jewish divide and conquer extension
based

>twitter.com/getongab/status/1116036111296544768
literally PR

also

you may not like it but saying nigger doesn't look good on your business

you literally installed malware, congrats

>>something free speech related is banned/taken down
>>obviously the Jow ForumsTARDS did this!!!!1

neck yourself kike, I'm glad Israel's shitty lander crashed

How are they "banning" it? You wouldn't mean they don't endorse and offer it on their site, right? That would be pretty dishonest.

>The plugin, available on most web browsers, allows anyone to comment on any webpage on the internet—and to see the comments left by other Dissenter users.
>AND TO SEE THE COMMENTS LEFT BY OTHER DISSENTER USERS

wtf why do they care

On Firefox you don't need this
Zotero distributes their add-on on their site with zero problems, they don't list it at all on the Mozilla addons site
Based
They deplatformed The Daily Shoah and purge lolis
It's the Zion Dion echo chamber for retards who got banned from Twitter, non NPCs use a non cuck Mastodon instances or self host their own
Add-on sites have always been considered platforms
You know they don't care, right? They didn't even try to disable the extension for anyone who installed it from AMO

>any platform that touts free speech inevitably gets overrun by pedophiles and has to shut down or ban them therefore compromising its message
literally laughing

Wanting to fuck kiddies isn't part of the 1st Amendment, desoid.

No, but technically, child pornography is free speech. Very slight exceptions to rules are still exceptions.

This makes me want to install it but I can already tell, I just *know*, that it's a cess pit just like this place.

So is libel ans slander

Then why are you here?

Were you lured here by April 1st good boy points and skeletons?

>companies exercise their rights

There's a difference between selective indulgence in trashiness versus taking that with you everywhere you go. Just because I fuck a fat bitch doesn't mean I want to marry her. You are the fat bitch in this analogy.

dissenter removes comments with the word nigger in it.

>In general, browsers should be agnostic.
There's no such rule, you made it up. Companies have the same right to freedom of expression as you and I do. If you write a piece of software, you shouldn't be forced to insert communist propaganda into it just because some people want to use your code as a platform for their opinions.

I'll take that as a yes

So that guy in Colorado doesn't have to bake the cake?

>Facebook streams the Nz shooting
>*crickets"
>Twitter let's their platform be used by Antifa to coordinate against Portland cops and civilians
>*Crickets*
>Dissenter let's you say the N word anywhere and everywhere in a 3rd party window non-dissenters can't even see
>"DELET THIS"

Big Think

>I literally installed dissenter onto firefox over this just to piss them off. I know mozilla would hate everything about me if they so much as looked at me or suspected I had guns, so I continue to use their browser just to spite them. If they start locking things down though I'll have to switch to icecat I guess.
Holy cringe

>I assert my idea of correct policy should be applied policy
How interesting user. Give me your blog link.

I don't mind the idea of the addon but it doesn't take its moderation responsibility seriously. There's SO many bots running around posting garbage and it didn't even try to stop the most basic attacks.
So it's just another platform for American/Russian bots. Nothing of value was lost.

The main portion of traffic Twitter bans automated posts meant to be seen as legitimate. Outside of that you find the types of content they ban is only strictly illegal of opposes their own policy.
>Facebook
A live broadcast is very hard to catch and shut down quickly.
>a third party extension that doesn't take any stance to any of its content gets disassociated from the company which platform its using
It's nowhere near censorship. It'd be another issue if they actively put in work to prevent it from functioning.

What? It was already banned on Firefox...

I had to install it manually and it gives me a warning every time I open the browser on Chrome telling me to disable developer mode because reasons.

Dissenter is pretty great though.

Dissenter replied to Mozilla and disputed its claims by saying that the extension permits people to view and interact with content on Dissenter.com, that illegal posts are moderated, and that offensive racial epithets in the English language are not displayed. This means it’s impossible for the extension to be used as Mozilla described and Dissenter would like Mozilla to reconsider its decision.

woah... I didn't know dissenter didn't display profanity.

It does. They're just lying.
They could probably have their pie if they just implemented the most trivial filters.

yep

Then what good would it be?

Give them nothing.

>what good would it be?
You're saying that the only meaningful use of this app is if you can write profanity or post from bot accounts?
I'm inclined to believe you mean this because that's what it looks like but I like the core idea of a community commenting on websites directly.
Ideally I'd see it broken up into sub communities but that would require a critical mass.

The good would be it is still on the extension stores they could let you disable it if you want to see the based nigger posters

Gab is actually pretty neat and I'm hardly a conservative, it's a shame more people don't use it.
The site is smooth and clean, I was impressed signing up. Compared to every other social media site it's refreshing.
But yeah trying to find local people to talk about Australian shit has facebook tier shitcunts harping on about fucking Hillary and jews. There's some cool little niche diy stuff though.
Politics is fucking cancer.

Attached: 1553692602152.jpg (439x330, 17K)

If gab had anonymity and was ranked by discussion rather than by upvotes, I'd probably give it a whirl.
Having to putting your name to shit is just bothersome, even if its a larp.

They just took the extension off their site. You'll have to install it manually now. The "content" Mozilla and chrome were adding in this case was hosting it on their curated catalog stores. There's no problem here they just didn't want to be a platform for Nazi babies. Is that the controversy even? I don't even know but it's usually Nazis nowadays.

>Dissenter is a brand-new product with one primary rule - people can exercise their First Amendment rights online in plain text.
The 1st Amendment doesn't apply to private companies. Sasuga blue checkmark.

Heil Hitler you sissy cuck bitch

>using furryfox

>Using botnetium

The Nazi Party was all for shutting down dissent and non-state media. Do you even know anything at all about Hitler besides "DA JOOZ"?

breach of contract.
"free" services profit from users, and from their data
there is no right for them to unilaterally breach that contract, deny services, and continue to profit off ad revenue, resale of datamining, or hold onto any of the data that user has given them.

when someone is banned, he deserve a refund of the data, monies collected from his data, and to have all of his data that company continues to hold completely, irrevocably deleted.

mods please ban this shitposter

>it doesn't take its moderation responsibility seriously. There's SO many bots running around posting garbage and it didn't even try to stop the most basic attacks.
>So it's just another platform for American/Russian bots. Nothing of value was lost.

you have convinced me.
im petitioning firefox and google to start blocking Jow Forums right now

god speed user hopefully it works

hail satan, niggerfaggot

>the site would improve
Let me know if you need me to send an email

old politics:
people stop doing business with a corporation.
nu politics:
corporations ban people.

we have gone full circle to the prohibition, unionbusting era, when blacklists prohibited people from earning all and any means of survival

You can still download it on Gab's site.
They're also making a Chromium fork, so it'll suck since it's Chromium.

Mozilla base their entire marketing push on the idea that they're the protectors of a free and open internet. Of course, what they actually mean is free and open apart from wrongthink that is at odds with their hard left political stance.

Except now the Trust-Busters are effectively neutered cowards since they are afraid if they piss off the Mega Corporations (especially in Silicone Valley) they'll hastily pack up everything, move to China and spill their guts on all our secrets and tech.

>mozilla free and open internet
yes
>moz://a free and open internet
no

You missed the most important part of it.
Journalist "interest group" pushes Mozilla and Alphabet to ban the Dissenter plugin.
Columbia Journalism Review pushed this.

Dissenter more like dysentery

Dissenter deletes the NIGGER word
They aren't

Guess you can only dissent so much before they decide you've had enough free speech.
The people behind gab and dissenter are serious hypocrites, but not quite as big hypocrites as the "journalists" and tech companies that made this happen.

You're niggering me. Say it ain't so!
