Why haven't you joined the 38" ultrawide masterrace yet?

I did but I sent it back because the DPI was too low and all the text looked like the 90s again

stop buying expensive peripherals to cope with a shitty OS that is Windoze
I switched from W10 to Arch and GNOME DE. so much better

because im poor

>loonix
>arch
>gnome

Attached: 1555043602830.png (212x218, 83K)

I don't want to go blind

Low DPI and too large to send everything without moving head or eyes a lot or sitting back further.

Big screens are only fit for entertainment, I'll go back down to 1440p and something like 24-28" when my current 4k 32" dies.
Might get two though.

Because I'm poor.

Used 2x24" - 2x100€
new 38" - $$$

I'm a poorfag

looks nice. is it significantly better than the 34" ultrawide?

the only bad thing out of these is gnome

Because 32" or 34" is better.

Don't see the point of changing from dual monitor + TV.

Waiting for a VA equivalent of LG's 38GL950G

because I'm not a pleb settling for not49"

Attached: evenFurtherBeyond.png (1204x202, 42K)

Why would I? I only use 5:4 monitors, since I'm not a numale gamer faggot.

>1280x1024
ok grandpa

Better than 16:9, gamer.

16:10 here grandpa

Too expensive right now. Fuck, I don't even have money to buy a new display after the previous one broke and I currently use some 5:4 19". 5:4 is pretty comfy tho.

I see ultrawide as a bezelless replacement for dual monitor setup.

Nice Macbook.

I use my screen in portrait mode

I'm ready for the gsync version

>38
here is a 49 for your eyes

Attached: kcli25ji2ff01.jpg (1024x683, 116K)

Because I got a normal 40" 4K VA display.

I have 34 UW + a 28K.
I'm good.

good guess

Took you long enough to come up with that excuse.

>excuse
You're the one who needs excuses for running 1280x1024 in the year of our lord 2019.

Attached: desk.jpg (2376x1584, 2.84M)

I have never made an excuse. Are you high?

Haven't had your ovaltine today? Little bit slow? Maybe it's a good time to start making excuses.

I don't know what that is. What is wrong with you? You aren't even making sense. Stupid art student.

Cries in 29" 1080p ultrawide

Refresh rate is to low.

you'll be waiting a while

Imagine wanting MORE space wasted on the sides of text youre trying to read than 16:9 already does

You can get new ones for that price

imagine being on Jow Forums and not write code or never have done any IT job

because i prefer having sex with women

Tell me, how does an ultrawide fare better than a 16:9 vertical at code viewing

>Low DPI
>Watching 1080p on them is a bitch to get the window size just right so you don't have odd scaling
>4k is out of the question
27" 4K 144hz 90% DCI-P3 (One of those ones that takes 2 DP cables to preserve 10bit colour at 144hz) along with 2 old 21" 1080p screens here with and I'm okay with this

dvi doesn't support it

There's not any "IT" job that requires a fucking 21:9 screen beside maybe movie editing, they're pretty much strictly for entertainment (or ricing) purposes.

Because the largest monitors that are 3D Vision ready are 27 inch 2560x1440, and frankly that's a lot of space coming from a 1920x1080 a year ago.

Baby steps before he embraces KDE

take a load of this fucking retard

Nice distortion

Because I'm just brought my 23.6" TN panel.

Attached: asus_vp247qg.jpg (500x500, 105K)

>using TN in the current year
gaymen

Better than IPS blacklight bleeding.

Better than no dynamics.

>implying

gives me a headache.

im not the other guy, i just noticed that your reading comprehension is really poor

I still love my 29" dell from 2013, no need for a upgrade.

I was tempted away by the Samsung CRG9. Could be convinced back by a 32:10 product though.

Because my radeon 4800 doesn't know what displayport or usb c is.

Why would I want to downgrade my resolution?

Attached: desktop-4M.jpg (5120x2880, 3.49M)

Eh. I'm fine with the 29" variant of the ultrawide. Fits for the average distance from the monitor.

You can't pay me enough to want to fix other people's computers. I don't care if it's enterprise hardware.

as long as it's 1440 lines. 1080 lines is shit. 27 16:9 1440 lines is objectively better than 29 21:9 1080 lines.

What am I looking at here?
Can you control all your shit from that PC?

Sry I don't know much about linux but I'm interested.

This video is long but it seems to cover the basics. Most of it is the guy actually using SSH. You can get away with watching the first 10 minutes. Press Shift + > on youtube to speed the video up.

I'll just have to pray to the Samsung gods that they make an equivalent 38" or similar 34". I would love to use their 32:9 CRG9 but my desk space is too small.

Thank you very much.

Because they don't make low latency 144 Hz IPS ultrawides

27" 1080p 144 Hz IPS master race

anyone who whines about how it should be 1440p and that 1080p at 27" is unusable do to low pixel identity is a retard who's never used one before or sits 1.5 feet away from their monitor

Attached: 81UPhv6kqKL._SL1500_.jpg (1500x1500, 152K)

>curved

can't even see or draw straight lines

Attached: 1551974931156.png (816x717, 858K)

Imagine being this low IQ.

This.
Although it looks great for general office work or programming, for multimedia work or even watch anime curved screens are a piece of shit.
I want a monitor to give me an accurate representation of the image displayed not distort the fucking image on purpose

Because I'm too busy in the 1:1 master race, user

Attached: patrician.jpg (672x392, 48K)

i did, my first impression was one of deep buyers remorse... the darn thing costed a fortune and at the time it seemed kinda pointless.

a week later i couldn't imagine going back.

sadly now days most people buy pc parts and peripherals over the net, having some shitty youtubers opinion to go by and some pictures. hard to get over that buyer anxiety and go for the purchase.

if only PC shops where still a thing... more people could try them at least a good 20 - 30 minutes then the 4k meme would finally die, and people would start leaving 1080p behind. 3440x1440 is a fantastic resolution, perfect for productivity, movie watching a gaming of all genres.

see what i mean? if this user could use one on a productive environment for 10 minutes he'd see. 3440x1440 gives you multiple workspaces on the same screen, we are not used to running an editor or a web browser on a window thats NOT maximized. once you stop maximizing windows and change your posture and height of the screen to match your new use case, then going back to 1080p is even more painful than using one of those awkward 13'' netbooks after using a full format PC.

mr moneybags here lol

>1920x1920
It's not 2010 anymore

not unusable but lol

>want to look at a corner
>need to rotate my head a billion degrees and break my neck
no thanks

I asked for one at work and they won't buy it to me ;_;

desu a good one is like half the amount they pay to me a month ($2000)

Not an excuse. There are dual link DVI-D to displayport adapters. Source: I used one for a while to run a 2560x1600 Apple Cinema Display (the glass front version with only a Mini DisplayPort interface) off my PowerMac G4 MDD with a geforce 7800GS AGP.

Because I'm not an owl

I have hd5850 and I can get only fullhd from it

its expensive
i dont need it

This looks extremely comfy
