It's incredibly cheap to just make a video. So why not?

To the uninformed. The creator and YouTube is paid by the expectation of the value of the user and their click through/watch rate.
The baby videos normally target baby watch time simply because there's no skip ads they profit from and babies don't click away/care about content quality. That's how they have millions of views. The algorithm suggests their videos one after another and they spend hours on these devices because of parental neglect.
If you find a video that attracts a better audience (like enraged parents or older kids) you probably get more from that.

That's why marketing videos like tech review channels have still run ads. They're very valuable because the audience is filled with sheep that throw big money on garbage. That's why gaming stuff is all marketed like transformers, because that audience responds to it.

Marketing is the problem. Ban it. Make the state control a simple ranking website where reviews come from people's social security number and any special affiliation with a company while posting equates to fraud punishable by death.

No there is a specific monetary reason for having a video at 10 minutes. Problem is it makes creators artificially extend the video longer than is necessary, cutting down on quality.
Long ago I stop clicking on clickbait titles, and later clickbait images, now I have also stopped clicking on videos that are 10:32 long for example.

NIGGER stop being dumb, at the 10 minute mark YOU the CREATOR get to choose how many ads are shown and WHEN in the video. In sub 10 minute videos there is usually a ad in the start, but at the 10 minute mark you can potentially have ad in beginning, several in between and one in the end.
