That isn't always the case though, prices vary between countries. I'm in northern Europe and Xiaomi phones are priced a lot higher vs. what they'd be ordered from China. Even a cheap Redmi phone can cost 100€ more here (How does RN7 for 269€ sound like?). From what I've read it's even worse in Latin America where they're paying really high taxes on foreign imported electronics.
