27" 165hz 1440p nano ips from lg will

>165hz
Why?

Esport shit I guess, I'd keep it at 120hz though to avoid issues with 30 and 60fps content.

>TN
Nope

it has everything else you'd want though: 1440p, 27 inch, 240hz, .5ms, vesa mountable

It doesn't have good black levels or viewing angles.

>IPS
Shitty contrast ratio, blacks look grey, no thanks.

Still darker than IPS.

That's not saying much.

Nano IPS fixes that actually

No it doesn't. Nano IPS is LG's name for their proprietary backlight film that improves color gamut, similar to the quantum dot enhancement film used on Samsung's QLED TVs and a small number of monitors. By itself, it doesn't do anything for black levels or contrast. For that you want VA, or better yet, full-array local dimming.

is there a good 1440p 120hz monitor out? don't care about the gaming stuff, just work and videos

That's going to be the LG 27GL850G-B.
I'm hoping for a Freesync variant.

I don't like that marketing either. No smart person does.
Can you stand 60/75hz though? Because I don't, and these are the only monitors that aren't ultra gaming 3000.

>gaming
Cringe.

Enjoy browsing at an extremely low refresh rate. At least you have a nice picture.

TN real talk: latest panels do actually look good, but only in 24" or less. The viewing angles ruin the colors of 27"

(((borderless)))

how much? $$

supposed to be $1000 USD

Well, I'm fine with my LG 22MK600M for $100 then.

>22 inch

I'm dumb and just got a high refresh rate monitor. How does limiting it to 120hz help?

It makes videos stutter on the edges of the screen or something, try to compare it yourself and you'll definitely notice it.

I'm more interested in monitor stands. Any good new quality yet affordable brands?
