Unix was an operating system in the 70s

So what, does it give better battery life? Launches programs faster?

Solaris is buggy shit and I'd have to hope the forks were better.

It's quite telling how the GNU system came to dominate over every UNIX system besides OSX. UNIX was always pure shit and GNU fixed everything that could be fixed about it.

It has ZFS support without needing you to patch the kernel yourself. It also runs on SPARC.
Past that it's completely useless because it's genetic UNIX.

There is no GNU system. It's time to take your meds, Stallman.

Fucking zoomers dont appreciate the beauty of a well crafted OS with good features. All you care about is muh gayms and muh apps.

Are you a dumbdumb?
illumos on its own is not a complete OS.
OpenIndiana is an illumos derivative.

Why is being "more similar to Unix" considered a pro?

Based.

It's not like what he said was wrong.

Good to know. I'll be sure to avoid those.

UNIX is not Unix. It's a trademark.

I run Tribblix. It's designed with a retro feel and modern components, using SVR4 packages. It's pleasant to use and very stable. I've got Motif up and running with my system.

Just did last night.

Unix is dead. Linux is king now.

Does OpenIndiana actually offer anything worthwhile over, say, FreeBSD?

>It also runs on SPARC.
OI doesn't have a SPARC port and likely will not for quite some time.
