With this one it seems that the screens are treated as one big screen with a bezel, which isn't quite what I'm looking for.

Ideally I'd like kind of more "extreme" version of Android's split screen functionality except that I could have a full screen app (or two apps in split mode) on each screen. Is that what this latter phone does?

The screen on mine finally died this year, but otherwise it was still going strong and the Edge functionality was great for productivity.
