Close anti-virus

What kind of shitty AV are you using? Or are you running Vista?

>close loop water cooling
>compuer suddenly becomes insanely fast
what the fuck

antivirus are the worst botnet imaginable
they literally look through all files on your computer

>remove botnet
>computer suddenly becomes insanely fast
that's why

You are just as retarded as op
anti viruses dont slow you down as long as you have a proper pc

Anti viruses are literally all shit snake oil, you don't need one user, just use some common sense and you'll be fine, or better yet install Linux

>Electron isn't bloat as long as you have 128GB of RAM

You are just retarded

> using an AV
> not just using based windows defender
Never used an AV and never got a virus. It's as if people are looking for them

I use Common SenseĀ®,the most lightweight AV

nice botnet

most people get viruses by downloading retarded shit from the internet and running it
any other infection is about as likely as getting hit by a brick in a wooden church
if you're in doubt run it through virustotal or something

>windows defender
>windows
back, you must go

I'll make Linux my main OS when its the best option for what I do.
Which is not yet.

Does AV stop hackers from attacking you though?

yeah, except windows defender doesn't let you download anything that's not proprietary software because it marks it as a "virus"

Anti-virus software is USELESS, stop using it.
-blocks less than 20% of known malware.
-needs a ton of resources for active blocking.
-is useless for passive detection because malware running as root/admin can mask itself and work around your OS and AV.
-can brick your OS or make it far more difficult to use.
-is vulnerable to malware itself and it introduces it's own vulnerabilities.
-if it's free (and not open source) then ask yourself how can it be free when it costs money to develop it? Because you are the product. You're being datamined, which is the same thing that malware does. Therefore, most AV software is malware itself.
-is proprietary in almost all cases (exception is ClamAV) so by running it you're trusting a 3rd party to protect you without getting any proof of safety and privacy.

Almost all malware will come from your web browser. Either through a javascript exploit or by you downloading a file and executing it (or if you're dumb enough to have flash player). You don't need an AV to protect you from this. You can just add uBlock Origin to your browser and have it block 3rd party scripts, stop executing files that aren't trusted and don't run shit as admin/root unless you trust it with your life. Also update your OS when you can.

what the fuck windows defender are you using? it's not ever going to stop you from downloading something. unless maybe you're using internet explorer, it might do that, I don't know.

You can circumvent that though.

uh sweetie you can get viruses just from visiting shady or hacked websites

Most AVs will hook into API calls to intercept certain requests such as running programs or opening network connections. That's why sometimes when you attempt to run a suspicious program your AV will complain and block it from running until you allow it even when you'd expect it to run normally since you just, say, double-clicked on it in the file manager. That's why they slow everything down.

How young are you faggots?
The first shit we used to do (on winblows machines) once upon the time is uninstall the shitty botnet AV that came with them and either opt for lightweight minimalistic AV or just defender

>2010 + 9
>Having a mechanical drive for your main OS
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Jonathan come off the computer now.

it's ironic because while most people don't need to use AV (just common sense would do, keep your stuff updated), it actually teaches bad security habits as people tend to rely on it too much and think they can throw anything at it and it will catch it all

It's always like that though.

Bee fren, not troll.

>using an AV
Are you a genuine boomer?

If you're not browsing the web as admin like a retard you should be fine.

>tfw you are your botnet

dumb animeposter

Anti virus does jackshit anyway.

so I dont need antimalware service executable?

Just install a [virtual machine] gnu+linux based web browsing appliance in the meantime.

Run Tiny7 or Win10 AME in a VM and only install the AV in that. Then clone that sandbox. Only download files in the VM and allow the AV there to scan them. Use a shared folder to get scanned files out. If the VM sandbox gets infected, just delete it and use the clone, but clone that clone before using it. Repeat as needed.

It is funny that the russian AV says stuff like AVG is malware.

>not just using based windows defender
windefender is the most disgusting cpu hog piece of shit there is, if that's what op was using the post would make sense. the first thing i do on a new windows installation is disable telemetry and defender.

* and p2p updates.
