Given my 16GB available RAM, yes, I deem this acceptable. It scales accordingly on my old crap laptop with 3GB RAM.
30 tabs (this time with 22 of them being from the unoptimized mess that is coub.com) take ~1850MB RAM, so it's not like it scales 1:1.
