No, a doughnut is not like a bagel at all except for that you make them both with flour and they have a similar shape
Doughnuts are soft and fluffy, and usually deep fried
A doughnut is more like a thicker, wetter, and more rigid bread, except the outside isn't caramelized into crust, and it's usually toasted before eating
