Oh no. I really appreciate his work. I didn't realize he was already 68. He looked so lively in his talks. Can we get a sticky?
his last blog post was how to set up a tiddly wiki
damn i wouldn't want to die like that
TiddlyWiki is fine
I killed Paul Allen.
His supervisor will restart him, right? ;_;
the real life virtual machine doesn't have any supervisor
Kill yourselves.

STICKY PLS
>Joe Armstrong
The 40 year old british actor?
No, seriously who?
This is basically a David Lynch movie.
>Mike calls first
>Then Joe says: I'm going to call Mike again.
unless you killed him and the police haven't found him yet, I'm gonna call BS based on the fact there's no info about his death online.
Joe "If you don't understand your source code, just write a book about it" Armstrong was a constant source of terrible programming advice.
goodbye joe
redpilled last tweet

Like what?
If you are a famous programmer with a Twitter account you should set up a dead man's switch to ensure that when you die your last tweet is this badass.

That full stop is a nice touch.

I never used erlang but it did look interesting.
he was the first man on the moon
some trumpeter who flew to moon
you don't know what you are missing
Erlang & OTP was personally a massive inspiration to me for how to structure programs with any concurrency, even if it's not Erlang but regular threads, processes, RTOS tasks etc.
>let it crash

i thought g liked erlang
No.

I just really never had much use for that kind of system and like everyone I got gigantic backlog of things I want to learn. Like I said though it seems very interesting, just watching erlang: the movie makes you want to learn erlang. That's good advertising.
Finally watched that like 2 nights ago :^)
Has anyone even verified this? Even Wikipedia is updated. The only source is a tweet from somebody.
>The only source is a tweet from somebody.
This guy is in the erlang community and I'm sure he knew Joe. A lot of the replies to his tweets seem to be from people who knew him too, I'm sure one of them would have said something by now if he wasn't dead.
We lost another one of the good guys. Who’s left ?
sad, his music was good
wake me up
WAKE ME UP INSIDE
>some stupid science bitch died
*YAWN*

One of the best free open source 3D subdiv modelers Wings 3D was written entirely in Erlang.

I love erlang and this makes me sad.

Apparently he had lung fibrosis
Looks like he didn't get his supervisor to restart him.

Honestly he was one of the few truly based language designers.
