I have a system running in my wall just for storage that is connected through my switch to my main pc. If they were to take my pc they would just think they are disconnecting my Ethernet from the internet and never know it was only to access a closed network build behind a wall.

It's a difficult one because while on paper I'd be totally fucked, I don't think it's worth their bother to prosecute me. I'm pretty certain 'they' know already and that I'm on some kind of list but that I'm nowhere near worth bothering about. I don't have any illegal porn but like most people here I imagine I have a metric shit ton of pirated media and software, leaks and banned videos, and there's a clear paper trail of me buying drugs online for years and buying everything to cook DMT in my kitchen. Legally they can't do jack shit. Sensitive shit is encrypted and since I live in a sensible country they can have the drives but can't force me to give them the keys.
And even so there is nothing strictly illegal on those drives, just research from uni and work and some other stuff. And the companies I work with could actually get their lawyers involved to get their data back quicker than the police can say shit.
And the unencrypted drives are literally games, Jow Forums related shit and a ton of music and movie rips which are legal as personal copies where I live.
So yeah at best they get "convinced" to immediately return the research drives at worst I also sue them for wrongfully swating my ass, misconduct etc.
