Nod32 is dead since they started purging every single trial key, I need a new AV, whats the best way to go?
>inb4 le cumon sense xddd >inb4 hurr durr just don't install shady shit durr That's literally not how it works. >Let's just ignore that elusive "sHaDy PrOgRaMs" are not how viruses get spread or infect victims anymore since 20 years. Let's ignore that Javascript and Ads are a much bigger threat, just as well as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Image files and PDFs are a much greater risk than literally downloading everything and executing it with admin rights or as root. Your great common sense doesn't do jackshit when your boss (unknowingly) sends you an infected .xls file or just a word document with embedded microcode that in turn infects your entire system and network. But my bad for assuming there are people with a brain or a job on this board.
You dumb nigger you have made this same thread everyday and expect anyone to give you something diffrent. Use any other anti virus becuase they are all the same.
Brayden Baker
Pirate Avast No need for fishy cracks just a plaintext license key
Nolan Bailey
>you have made this same thread everyday >I'm the only person in the world that uses nod32 What about you fucking kill yourself?

For defending against bullshit like Office macros: >use the built-in windows antivirus >turn off macros lol For defending against haxxors: >use chrome or firefox >use an ad blocker >enable all the windows exploit protection options you can >enable virtualization based security if you can >make sure you don't do stupid shit like expose your computer to the public internet For downloading warez: >use malwarebytes to scan shit before running it >use the virustotal uploader on executables Windows is basically secure out of the box these days, as weird as it feels to say that. Why do you feel like you need a commercial antivirus product?
James Allen
Use Avast, custom install. ONLY install file system protection. Turn off community botnet and cloud analysis in option and you shall be safe. Thank me later.
OP projected so hard, there's no way he wasn't molested by anti-AV people.
Jayden Lewis
use virustotal OP.Check virustotal shell uploader. But to be honest fooling AV engines was very easy just few years ago and small kids on hackforums can do it by copy pasting crypter source code and changing few lines here and there
Xavier Miller
windows defender everything else is utter crap
Brayden Green
The Apple Macbook Pro with Retina Display doesn't have this problem.
David Wright
You can't install malware if you can't type the URL into your browser.
Connor Gutierrez
>monthly signature updates >detects pirated software as malware >fails on crypted malware Haha yeah no, fuck that garbage.
can confirm. it fucked up some of my torrents. i just turned that shit off. unless you run some shady binaries from the web and if you use ublock/umatrix with bunch of filters there's literally no way you can fuck up your system.
Nolan Sullivan
is that anime really trash?
Noah Stewart
on windows I use clamwin, clam sentinel, malwarebytes, spybot, and zonealarm. on win xp and newer windows firewall. on win7 microsoft security essentials, its replaced on win 8 & 10 as windows defender is built in. older versions im sure could be had for older windows.
I thought i remembered an older windows antispyware and windows defender for xp+, but i may be mistaken.
Julian Martinez
Stop using Windows.
Nathaniel Ross
Can you imagine being in 2019, use a computer and you need to (((buy))) a fucking (((anitvirus))) for your computer? L M A O
>That's literally not how it works. Except it is. >Let's ignore that Javascript and Ads... If you don't block JS by default and only enable it in trusted sites and don't block ALL ads you are a turbonormie retard not belonging to this board. >Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Image files and PDFs Those are not executable files. Just change permissions to read only if you are so paranoid or use Google Docs. > when your boss (unknowingly) sends you an infected .xls file or just a word document with embedded microcode that in turn infects your entire system and network Things that never happened: The Post Stop watching so much Mr. Robot kiddo, perhaps come back to posting when you are 18.

>using a third-party antivirus That shit does more harm than good nowadays. Just use a VM for questionable files your boss sends you, retard.
>Assblasted retard can't use linux or common sense with windows defender Yeah, you might just be the only one, retarded enough to use nig32 let alone retarded enough to think of pirating an anti virus. Since you are a good little wagie cuck account manager who fears excel sheets and docs for viruses why not buy one then. Just use your Office 97 with 5 sets of antivirus for complete protection since all latest office suites run in sandbox with macros disabled and if you are retarded enough to enable macros after warnings designed for boomer faggots like you, still your default windows antivirus scans the payload before being executed. Just fuck off to and kill yourself retard.
If you are brainlet enough to not have common sense and an adblock, you deserve the virus you get. Windows Defender is godtier now and any other shit is plain bloat at this point. Kek
>boss sending you infected file nigga you at work? installing trial/unpaid shit on work/business machines; the fuck is wrong with you
Jayden Murphy
I use BitDefender. I used to usd Nod32 (Paid) but I started upping my "piracy" game on all fronts and needed the best if the best to make sure my dumbass doesn't brick my system.
Firefox does have sandboxing, if that's what you mean. It seems to work pretty well. VBS is a Windows security feature that has nothing to do with any particular application.
Ryder Wood
100% of people ITT are infected with some form of malware and are too dumb to realize it
Angel Gomez
Me too, but I can't really comment on how good it is though. I can get pretty autistic when I start researching what software to use so I guess I had good reason to pick this one back then.
>Let's ignore that Javascript and Ads are a much bigger threat Turn off javascript, retard, you don't need it on every shady site, it's literally remote code execution. Also most ads are delivered with javascript, so no ads without javascript. >Your great common sense doesn't do jackshit when your boss (unknowingly) sends you an infected .xls file or just a word document with embedded microcode that in turn infects your entire system and network. But my bad for assuming there are people with a brain or a job on this board. Don't open it on your machine, open it on boss's machine and let it infect the boss's network, which is probably already infected, because the boss already did it. Common sense, nigger.
Nicholas Perez
It's this easy to pirate? I'm getting tired of the obnoxious ads on the free as in free beer version and Windows Defender hogs way too many resources I'm not willing to use anything that's not Kaspersky since they're the only ones who told off CIA niggers back when Vault 7 dropped, the only non glowie AV
Colton Hernandez
lol, kasper is the fattest hogs of them all
Samuel Roberts
Source? I checked how it ranked on resource usage like 2 years ago, back then it was pretty good, or at least better than Defender
Henry Martin

The only reason businesses use AV anymore is because HIPAA, PCI, and other privacy and consumer protection laws mandate it. AV is just an annoyance, it won't prevent an infection.
Henry Green
Consumer antiviruses are pretty useless, common sense is honestly not a meme. However, if you do not have windows 10, you should install and configure the enhanced mitigation experience toolkit. It comes with a kernel level driver, which in 10 was fully integrated into the kernel, that provides windows with actual defensive security features. it is significantly more protective than an antivirus could ever be
Gabriel Cruz
I've pirated it for years I just thought fuck it and bought it.
Jaxon Williams
>>make sure you don't do stupid shit like expose your computer to the public internet wew lad
Asher Allen
You're fucking mouth breathing retard. You made a review thread. You also probably don't actually have job because if you did you would have a computer issued by your work. Just admit that you're too dumb for Common Sense. Leave and never come back, bitch.
Xavier Torres
Just don't install shady shit and learn your operating system and it's more powerful mandatory access control system. Antivirus is retarded garbageware.
Jonathan Wilson
HIPAA and PCI spell out explicitly antivirus? Jesus fucking christ. And where is the section that describes the behaviors the antivirus must adhere to?
Adrian Sanders
It doesn't explicitly say you have to have antivirus, it says you have to have systems in place to detect, prevent, and contain viruses, so basically an antivirus, or what an AV is intended to do anyway.
Landon Kelly
>AV is just an annoyance, it won't prevent an infection. This is your brain on Jow Forums
Sebastian Hernandez
Brainlet. I have personally had to clean multiple infected computers with AV installed and running and I've had to clean up after a cryptolocker infected an entire network of computers, each of which had AV installed. AV does not prevent infection. It may reduce the risk by some marginal amount but you can definitely still infect a computer with AV installed and it isn't even that hard.
Elijah Mitchell

Carter Brown
>mfw I've been using nod32 for years with some random key I found thanks to google
Actually, if you encode your payload with veil then it won’t be picked up by Windows SmartScreen or Defender. But you’re obviously too stupid to know that.
AV can prevent infections from stuff that it can actually detect. If something new and yet undocumented comes along, only common sense and a hardened system can save you.
Dominic Barnes
they've been topping lists for like a decade straight so that's no surprise it was too naggy for me, ended up installing avast
Jonathan Thomas
kaspersky literally has a "hacktool" category where it will mark any cracks it detects, even windows loaders and I haven't noticed any difference regarding that since I switched off it, even if the categories are named differently
Adrian Roberts
I hate fucking Avast, I don't know why it's made my client's computers un-bootable after a windows build update. AVG has become full botnet. Avira had the daily ad last time I used it. All chink antivirus like 360 and other shit are chink botnets. Norton, McAfee are shit. ClamAV does not protect you in real time. Haven't used Nod32 in like for ever. Kaspersky was good but intensive last time I used it.
I just use Windows Defender and manually scan with Malwarebytes AntiMalware and ADWCleaner.
