monitor is from way back when yeah, traded in my iiyama crt for this in around 2005 - wish I had that back.
Have had other monitors since then but they have broken, this just keeps on going.
Stole the mouse from work when the IT guy got fired, also have 5 or 6 thinkpads from work, this one is mine that I found in a bargain bin for £20 this year.

there's a window in my room, and I don't want to display what's on my monitor infront of my neighbours if they decide to look at my window.

Basically, it's a privacy thing. I did have my desk against the wall before, but it made me extremely paranoid and I had to check that the curtain was all the way down several times per hour.

honestly, i've had this laptop for a year and it's pretty good. nothing wrong with it so far, the only thing is is that it's a lot slower when unplugged. couldn't tell you much about the shell vs the rollcage
