Welcome to the freetard world.

>and allow them to take total control of their machines!
Which proprietary software does not allow you to do. If you run proprietary software, you are not controlling your machine. The developers are.
A proprietary program puts its developer or owner in a position of power over its users. This power is in itself an injustice.

I should have the freedom to do stupid shit, otherwise it's not really freedom.

Imagine being as dumb as a freetard

Nigger logic

you have that freedom with like 98% of distros
but those distros dont respect your freedom like trisquel does

Show me where they say that installing non-free software is forbidden and how they enforce it.
They provide you with a distro that only ships with free software and don't offer non-free software in their repositories. That doesn't impact your freedom to install non-free software in the slightest.

>Show me where they say that installing non-free software is forbidden and how they enforce it.
The linux-libre kernel will refuse to load nonfree firmware, and if you install the regular colonel then you're not really using Trisquel any more, you're using your own shit

so get a distro that lets you load code you cant read then

Yeah, I only use operating systems that respect my freedom to run the software I want to run - unlike linux-libre distros

trisquel is great, i use it as my daily, i only wish it ran on my chromebook. galliumos is cool but they screw with the defaults too much to try and make it more like chromeos, which is what you're trying to get away from when you install gallium. i used to use blag gnu/linux but it's been unmaintained for so long now.

no one cares

freetards care, they can't shut up about it

there are literally 0 freetard threads this is an anti freetard thread you moron

i use libre and i literally couldn't care if i wanted to. there are hundreds of distros, use whatever you want, man.

nobody cares about your thread, is that your point?

no one cares what you do. use nonfree.

You're free to modify or replace the kernel.

pfft hahahahaha

Do you get mad that microsoft paint doesn't play mp4s? That's what your firmware complaint comes across like to me. You even admit that you have the freedom to install a new kernel, I can't quite figure out what you are mad about

>you're not allowed to install that
That's a lie.

> you're not allowed to install that

ITT brainlets who can't think that because they can't apt-get something it means they're not "allowed" to do it.

Imagine being this retarded.

Jesus user are you really this fucking useless?

No one is stopping you from installing non-free software on Trisquel.

How do I install MS fonts? (as in ttf-mscorefonts-installer under Ubuntu, for exampe)

Download the source, sudo make install.

I'm not even able to change the instruction set on my processor

just because you can strictly use different repos doesn't mean one of the main features of the OS isn't attempting/encouraging the restriction of nonfree, faggot

Why does freedom trigger the Microcuck so hard?

it's like having a dick lock lmao

fork it and make it proprietary then?

> needing to have non free "repos" to install proprietary software.

How did you even use computers before apt-get?

Not with the GPL you can't.
So really in that case it's like the proprietaryfags have the duck lock

Are you sure I can't? Who will check? How'd you figure it out?

Trisquel is a based distro fuck off faggot

I would genuinely use Trisquel if there was an option to not use SystemD. Currently running Devuan on my X60 with the nonfree repo not enabled.

The license itself mandates that if you fork code licensed under it, you have to also license your fork under the GPL.

How'd you know if I take the code and put a proprietary license on it?

protip: he can't

>install an OS deliberately designed to push the user away from proprietary software
>LOL WHY DOESN'T IT MAKE IT SIMPLE TO INSTALL PROPRIETARY SOFTWARE HURRR FREEDUMB

You're allowed to, but they won't put non-free software into their repositories.

then just install non-free software if you want or you could freely choose to use any distro you want and install non-free on that. do you just not like having the option to run entirely free software or are you just stupid?

Thats pretty much my problem with the ultra FOSS only movement. Its stupid you should have total freedom over you hardware and software which is great and I agree but why are you limiting me from handing that freedom in for certain software packages? Its kinda contradicting no? Anyway that and the fact that the GPL license is stupid for basically alienating most comercial use cases. MIT license is still the best IMHO for non profit / personal work.

it calls itself gnu/linux. of course it's retarded

because you will give that freedom away immediately
