No, that's not how it works. The money he's making right now is owned by his parents and they can choose to let him have it or not. Money he makes after he's 18 is his, but the money he's making right now doesn't become his when he turns 18 if it isn't already his.
They also have a bit of control over the rest of his life, and can use that control to exert pressure on him to listen to them.

He can just hire a lawyer and emancipate himself or settle any claims about the money.

Some sellers will source their items from Alibaba and sell it for a 500%+ markup but that's not drop shipping, those items usually have Prime shipping.

Shit now remembering how that money I made had a whole butterfly effect on my school. I started buying chocolates in bulk and would resell in school, had about 15 guys reselling in one school and 5 or 7 in a nearby school. Made a few thousand from that too before teachers cracked down on us. We even had "protection" squads at one point to fuck with anyone outside my group.

I have done this and you make a lot of money until demands inevitably go away. You have to change your products constantly. At 18, I was pocketing like $10,000 per month selling a LOT of odd items but it only lasts for a few months to one year and you have to deal with some seriously annoying people and the stress from the uncertainty sucks a lot, AND is effectively not viable anymore.
I have an inventory and sell my own products now in a niche market. They are high quality and in high demand. I make less than I did during the dropshipping per item after all expenses but it is very steady, I am making more overall, and I have a reputation.

Less chance of chinking about and they even provided their chink tracking numbers which was a big deal on Ebay. Also incike generations was based on far less expected volume so overall less stress (if I could call it stress back then)

There was a lot of scams, the best one I saw was a "how to make passive income" pdf which told you to make a "how to make passive income" pdfs and sell them on ""blackhat"" forums. Another was uploading porn torrents with an included pdf on penis enlargement techniques that you had to buy the full version of to get the techniques.

That law exists to protect a household if the parent needs to pool the family's money for bills.

One of his customers had connections to a juvenile law attorney who got him emancipated. He threatened to hold the dad liable for damaged/missing computer parts and sue him in court unless he signed the papers legally emancipating him.

Not sure if what that attorney did was entirely legal or not, but it certainly worked. like I don't think a coerced signature is necessarily 'valid' but hey fuck that guy.
