Who still DVI here?

Attached: DVI.jpg (300x300, 12K)

DVI is the awkward middle child between VGA and HDMI

Me

1070 and 1080p monitor connected with this bad boy

Exactly.
Used VGA for so many years and then kinda switched to DVI when HDMI took off. Don't care, it just werks.
Also, interestingly most DVI cables have a nice feel to them while most HDMI ones feel like cheap flimsy shit.

Nice
1060 and 1080p hooked up with this patrician interface here

Me!

here
love it

>people get sentimental
>OVER A FUCKING MONITOR CABLE

what does that make display port?

a non jewish relative of some sort obviously

>you never got attached to stuff that's really useful for you?

DVI still just werks, so if you're not hitting the resolution limit, it's still perfectly acceptable to use.

my 2nd monitor is DVI

I always wanted a 2xinch monitor with a rez that begins with a 2 or even 3 but then I realized 1920x1200 is absolutely perfect for my work, hobby and entertainment needs so I think I'll go with this for as long as I can.

HDMI is literally DVI with a simpler connector so normies don't damage it. Can even do audio over DVI even though it's not standardized.

Throughout all the displays in my house, there are two that are DVI, five DisplayPort, and four HDMI. The two DVI are on older Asus 1080p IPS displays which are the third and fourth monitors on one of the computers and do not have HDMI or DisplayPort, and I've had no reason to replace them.

who are you quoting?

Nope.

yeah my korean monitor is still going strong

Me. 1080p is as high as screen res needs to go for now. When 4k monitors take over and 1080p doesn't get some any more, I'll switch to some cheap ones and use HDMI or dp but for now, my 2 DVI monitors are perfect

Me, because I use a 900p monitor I bought from a pawn shop.

I use DVI for the thiccness

Attached: )-(.jpg (2268x3000, 1.77M)

outside of specialty applications, HDMI is just DVI with DRM and shitty loose connectors

This.
DVI cables are fucking sluts.
They're THICC and EAGER to get manhandled by you.

1070 here and my second monitor is still connected with DVI

Attached: j j abrams.gif (300x237, 2.66M)

yep

DVI + dp herrenrasse

i do.
Laptop with two monitors:
-VGA to VGA monitor
-HDMI converted to DVI monitor

>feels good

Attached: 1548890996581.jpg (1080x1080, 287K)

I wish my new monitor has an DVI. I'm now with DisplayPort.

Attached: VP247qg.jpg (300x223, 80K)

VGA. I'm with the Japs on this one.

>so many DVI bros
warms my heart

Redpill me on displayport. Is it worse than hdmi?

Actually it's better than HDMI, at very least it got a lock mechanism.

Monitor only has dvi and hdmi.
Hdmi is used for my switch so dvi it is.

Why do you need a lock? Are you retarded?

Do you like a loosely hole? Well, I'm not.

All my hdmi holes are tight.

And my DisplayPort even tighter.

Every sane person?
I use DVI-D, btw.

>my gookshit monitor only has a DVI-D port
>HDMI port on my graphics card is fried
Kinda stuck with it unless I do a major upgrade.

110hz @ 1440p here

DB13W3 on my Sun SPARC shitboxes and on my SGI Octanes. The newest connector I use is VGA. Every other display connector can suck my fat dick. I'm not upgrading.

Attached: p.jpg (236x353, 12K)

why tho

Don't they share a pin laypout? If that's the case why can't DVI get updates to what it can push?

I'm using a DVI to HDMI cable for my 1080p monitor

DVI doesn't have Ethernet

I still use DVI because if i use HDMI my monitor goes black for a few seconds and reconnects whenever i close a game.
No idea why.

I'm using DVI with a passive converter to VGA for my secondary (VGA only) monitor.

I use dvi-d because its the only cable that can output 144hz on my monitor. Hdmi and vga dont cut it.

59hz all day baby

I'm still on VGA 1280x1024 monitor, my keyboard is still PS/2 too
works for see and I have no reason to replace them

Attached: outh.png (1280x4096, 424K)

HDCP is in DVIs too.

I can't count how many times those thumb screws have stripped my nails because I didn't want to look for a screw driver.

Why do you tighten them to the point that you need a screwdriver?

10/10

Based and redpilled

DVI is superior to hdmi since it supports higher fps. Either use dvi or displayport

I don't tighten them that hard, it's just what happens when you tighten many of them in a row, your thumbnail gets stripped and it hurts like a bitch.
I disliked PS2 because it tended to get loose quite easily and I had to restart the whole computer whenever it disconnected. A lot of keyboards don't support full nkro if you don't use PS2 though.

I have a monitor ,with only DVI input. I have liike three different adapters daisy chained together to connect my HDMI stick PC to the screen. :^(

Same. Only thing I did is get HDMI->VGA/DisplayPort->VGA passive adapters.

Just doing DP -> DVI -> HDMI because of the spare cables I had laying around.

1440p 96hz DVI master race

I use DP to DVI direct cables because I can't be arsed to replace all 3 of my Dells which still work perfectly fine just because card manufactures like mix n matching their fucking display outputs on a whim.

Because the majority of people doesn't have 3 monitors, they stick on 3 different ports so whatever monitor the average pleb uses there would be a port for it.

probably cooler mod

likely crosstalk

this

enjoy your botnet, but please use DisplayPort in future

Attached: 1fq3r9.jpg (600x600, 21K)

I still use it.
DP supports direct DVI output so there's no reason for me to change my monitors just because of that.
Furthermore, it's digital, so it offers the exact same picture quality assuming you're not over the limit

Catleap owner here.

Gonna replace it when decent HDR, IPS, 2560x1440, G-Sync, 144hz monitors comes out.

Attached: Uten navn.jpg (828x721, 129K)

My main requirements for a GPU now is 17cm PCB and single slot of connectors things like the rtx and 16 series are OK because I'll prob just solder or snap off the second slot display port people who resell hardware are dumb buy some thing you know you can use until it dies and make it ya own via keno custom cooler

If you not using hardware until its worth 0$ you shouldn't own a modular computer

Oi question for u fags does dvid support 2k to hdmi

I would, but DVI is broken on my monitor so I use DP instead, and VGA.

bump

Me... I like the screw connection. My monitor also only has DVI and VGA..... But i own a DVI to HDMI cable... Still use DVI to DVI tho(to a 1050ti)

Stop being 100% me

Just bought a mini display output to dvi d input.

1070 on 1440p with this

What's the point of ethernet through a fucking VIDEO cable?

A lot of TVs and media players have online functionality.

With a ethernet hdmi passtrought you don't need multiple ethernet cables running all over the place.

My main monitor is DVI and my 2nd is VGA still

What do you mean "still" DVI?

Literally the only cable that can do high resolution 144hz

HDMI is for normies and brainlet it also can't do 120Hz on most devices

I kinda have to. My monitor is new enough to have a 144hz refresh rate and old enough to not have the newer HDMI or DP ports that can support higher refresh rates

why would i use anything else?
it's big, juicy and durable so you can't break it in half like hdmi and whatever else
like her
That's the only output at my graphic card

Hooked up to 30" 10-bit screen.
Don't rape your eyes guys, get a good color screen.

Who would Photoshop a refrigerator onto Kim Kardashian's body

fuck that zoomer shit
who still /SCART/ here?

Attached: cx1a095.jpg (700x525, 33K)

fuck this """"standard"""" so god damn much
I'm glad that it's dead

Attached: dvi-connection-types.svg.png (750x438, 12K)

>eurotrash

I use the ones I have left for home security these days.

it's interesting the many similarities between HDMI and SCART
-similar outline shape
-almost the same amount of pins (19 and 21)
-can be used digitally
-used for both audio and video in one cable
-no signal degradation

problem?

VGA MASTERRACE
warm colours and tried and true traditions.
Additionally you can whip niggers with its MASSIVE GIRTH

Attached: MSTR.jpg (1500x1500, 90K)

>HDR, IPS, 2560x1440, G-Sync, 144hz
you will need a better videocard pleb. pic related

Attached: 24-011-229-V01.jpg (1280x960, 91K)

No, HDMI is the bastard child of DVI that does the same thing but charges money for it.

DVI and Displayport are THICCer

Stob it goys, come on

Attached: 1520806035775.jpg (1024x630, 73K)

Mostly the same thing. DVI doesn't carry Ethernet

2x 1600x1200 hooked up RIGHT THE FUCK NOW.

Why the fuck do you want a display cable to carry ethernet.
