CPUs based on gaming performance
>1600/1700 - for multi threaded applications; worse in gaming due to hideous single core speed and latency
>9400F/2600 - Light 30-60fps gaming.
>9600K - Good 60fps+ gaming
>2700X - Great for budget gaming/multi-threaded workloads.
>i9 9900K/9700K/8700K - Flat out best single core speed money can buy, Usually 15-30% advantage over 2700X

RAM
>NEVER use only a single stick
>8GB - very light use, and/or if you don't mind closing programs regularly
>16GB - standard amount. If you have to ask if you need more, you don't
>CPUs benefit from fast RAM; 2800MHz+ is ideal. Check "more" for true latency formula

Graphics cards based on current pricing:
>Used cards can be had for a steal; inquire about warranty
1080p
>RX 570/580 - value.
>1660 - Slightly better perf for more demanding games on high/maxed 60fps+;
> 1660Ti / 1070 / Vega56 / 2060 - higher framerates
1440p (WQHD)
>1070Ti / Vega / 2070 - 60-120fps+ in most games on high/maxed
>RTX 2080 / 2080Ti - higher framerates
>RTX 2080 / Radeon VII - upscale or lower settings
>RTX 2080 Ti, but poor value.
>RTX Titan, 4K 60+ frames per sec, Extremely poor value, But if you want the best, This is it.

Wtf is this?

Nobody cares about your pozzed thread Inshill

AMD get's their "secure" cpu thread, I've got schizophrenia for making a gaming variant thread that mostly favors intel. Sounds about right coming from a diehard AMD shill.

>shillers nexus

Why is the ego of the average intard so fragile? All it took was pic related to send them in a raging frenzy where they need to spam their own hugbox circlejerk general of AMD FUD aken to blessing a new home by sprinkling it with "holy water". They really need to get a grip, accept their hot trasheap hardware filled to the brim with security exploits and vulnerabilities simply isn't a desirable product anymore.

I mean can you really blame people for NOT wanting their SSD performance to literally be cut in half from the 30+ security mitigations you have to enable on an intel system to get the same security as a stock AMD processor? I thought intards were all for """""performance""""".

What are you trying to prove? All of those benchmarks has amd getting Rochambeaued. and what picture?

At 720p of course but who buys a 1080ti for 720p?

1080p vs 1440p is the real discussion to be had. Would YOU personally play on a lower 1080p resolution when 1ms 1440p monitors have started to dip near $200?

Of course, we should all pretend that a 2600X needs that water cooler and X470 motherboard to achieve 4.2 GHz, it's not like $20 212 evo + $70 B450 can do the same, right?

>but who buys a 1080ti for 720p?
I did, but I need frames. My career as an eborts bro depends on it.
> Would YOU personally play on a lower 1080p resolution when 1ms 1440p monitors have started to dip near $200?
Yes, but I'm not a casual gamer.

I also want no part in your AMD vs Intel autism so friendly sage :^)

Newer patches has no effect in performance.

Now show 4KB random read pre and post patch :^)

I'm sure you'll find one for me.

It's a gaming performance gaming build thread, Naturally i'm going to pick Intel hardware because it rapes AMD in games. If you want a steady 144fps at a lower resolution you're not going to touch AMD. I'm not even shilling. and as for security mitigations they've been for the most part patched and optimized. So stop with the bullshit.

Aren't you supposed to be spamming more FUD intel©®™ approved benchmarks where the ryzen system is using a single stick of 2133 CL19 RAM? C'mon intel BOI, get to it, the spam won't spam itself.

but I'm just curious, is this actually any good? I've heard bad and good things about CyberPower so idk what to believe

Yeah it's pretty decent, It doesn't say if it's an 8700 or 9700, either way you're going to be gaming pretty nicely with it, Plus a 2070.

Excellent high fps 1080p system.

"8th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-8700K processor"
thank u guys for your help, btw

Especially nice, Overclock that badboy.

I have a R5 2600 and I hate my life. Fuck this shit, next time I'm going Intel for life. This is stupid.

Depends on what you do with it, But yeah it isn't the best for gaming by a long shot.

So since were currently nearing the end of the just wait(tm) period for zen2, is it worth waiting for the new chipset thats gonna launch along side the zen 2 or do you think the x470 is a better choice. Looking at the x370 to x470 it didnt seem like there was too much difference so I presume it will be the same for a new release.

Hey, I bought an x1c6 thinkpad. I want to use a eGPU system.

Would you guys reccomend a rtx2080 or Radeon VII?

Attached: 220px-Thunderbolt_3_interface_USB-C_ports.jpg (220x186, 12K)

X470 will be fully supported my all manufacturers

>2080ti
>1080p
the absolute state of this damage controlling jewtel kike lmao

They're neck and neck, That's going to be up to you. 2080 is more power efficient.

It says 1440p might want to take another look.

That's what I was reading as well. Is ray tracing a meme? Do you think the AMD will drastically improve? I havent bought a video card since the gtx770s. So I've just researched anything I could. Thanks for your reply.

Should I get a Vega 56 or spend the extra few bucks for a 2060? Planning on using it for 1440p60, and I'm willing to lower settings to accommodate.

Oh i see what you meant, It's a performance metric, Nobody is realistically going to use a 2080ti for 1080p.

Also one more question, how do you pick the brands of nvidia? What is your opinion of the best. EVGA has been pretty solid for me. Also I saw EVGA has a OC edition of the 2080 that could be overclocked more I guess. Bigger cooler on it.

The fine wine think doesn't seem to be just a meme, They might squeeze a little more out of it. RTX as of right now is a meme, It will need to mature for a few more generations.

see Wrong post.

EVGA is the most solid right now. You really can't go wrong unless you get something from over seas which has questionable quality.

Yeah but will the new chipset(x570 presumably) be a big stack up or would it just be better to buy an x470. Its all speculation in the end but its worth asking.

awesome cool. thx

There's no damage to control, You're just a retarded lemming.

X470 will require a bios update, The same update a X570 is going to get so you might be looking at better VRMs which is pretty pointless, They're already really good. I don't see much changing.

No one is recommending X370/B350s for Ryzen 2000 in this day and age. If he's building completely from scratch, I would of course recommend that he gets 500-series chipsets, not 400.

>11 posters
>making a duplicate general thread when TWO already existed.
Just report him.

Vega is better for 1440p. Will likely have more games using 8Gb by the next console generation which is next year, even if it's only a handful which barely use over 6Gb now.

It's a variant apart from the AMD shill "secure" cpu threads. Read the title. It's a gaming PC thread.

Missed your question, Yes a vega 56 would be ideal.

>If he's building completely from scratch, I would of course recommend that he gets 500-series chipsets, not 400.
Why? Also fyi I am not building completely from scratch but I am buying a cpu, a mobo and memory. My plan was just to buy an x470 mobo right after the x500 series is announced so(hopefully) it will go on sale. Is there something that would make buying an x500 worth it?

The short answer is no. X470 and the X570 will have the same bios.

Better volt regulation most likely and other useless amenities pretty much.

Not much is known about the 500-series chipsets right now, but there is a chance that a BIOS update to 300/400 series will might enable PCIe 4.0 for the one slot where you put the GPU in while the rest of the slots (including M.2) might be stuck at 3.0. 500-series might have more slots that utilize PCIe 4.0. It all depends on your needs, I guess, and we still need more info. I would wait and see unless you're absolutely sure that you're satisfied with a X470 board and the potential mobo cash savings are more important to you.

Ah, thanks. Another question I have is do you think that buying b die ram before the zen 2 announcement is a good idea? Downside is I cant tell if its borked but presumably it'll be cheaper before demand drives the prices up since everybodies gonna be buying b die ram for their zen 2s.

Well you have the chance of buying unsupported ram like past zens. Any thing above 3200mhz has a possibility to crash the memory controller. I'm not sure though man, You might want to wait.

I was pretty much just asking for what speculated and what you guys thought. I doubt x470 is gonna go up in price when the x570 is announced, it just wouldn't make sense. Im going to wait for the announcement and most likely buy the x470 afterwards.

Might be best, Everything right now is speculation.

Guys I really need a new PC and I really don't think I can wait for the r3000's
All I've got at the moment is a shitty $100 laptop with 4gb ram that can barley run chrome. I can't live like this.

Give me the concise 'wait' argument. Really just how much better will a 3700x be that a 2700x? How much will the price of a 2700x go down? Is July 7 really going to be the release date?

I mean it's up to you, You can get that kind of performance now but at a price, Or just wait. Zen 2 will get slightly better singlecore speed and the possibility for 16 core on a desktop CPU. But chances aren't looking good for better framerates in gaming. It's all up to you.

>tfw still waiting on ryzen 3
Is it here yet lads?

Attached: 1550617695464.png (1080x1068, 996K)

9900K owner here, I'm waiting to.

Even if it's a pentium M with 4gb of ram the laptop will be capable of doing web browsing, office work and the like easily. I presume you have some form of lightweight distro on it.
Look up whether its graphics solution has a hardware decoder for h264 on it (most shit from 2007 on will have a 1080p capable h264 hardware decoder), then use h264ify to make your jewtube normie shit easier. Use the time to investigate hobbies you're interested in through a combination of jewtube and research.

If you sell it to some chump on ebay right after we (hopefully get some confirmation the ryzen 3000 cpus are good you might get enough for it to make a profit.
I know in my country ebay buyers are super retarded and take a week or 2 to figure out new shit is out so they keep buying it at regular prices and intel probably isn't going to price drop because they're doing that apple pricing shit.

Ha, That exactly what i was going to do. If zen2's single thread perf is above a 5ghz 9900k, It's getting done.

Regarding monitors with freesync, just how well do modern Nvidia cards preform on it? I remember there being some issues in the past.

All issues have been fixed as of late.

>SSD speeds literally cut in half
Kek Intel is such a retarded piece of shit of a company Intel shills are legitimately schizos. Intel is truly dead.

It's been patched a few months ago, Why do you guys insist on jerking each other off constantly? We get it, You're poor.

No it wasn't, the hardware can't be patched. Sorry you have to justify your garbage inferior pozzed products but it's just pointless.

At the end of the day, Ryzen still sucks shit at everything.

Intel processors have 0 value, they're like feces.

>muh games
Go to bed, child. The adults are talking.

have sex

How dumb would it be to build a new PC (everything except storage) right now with a 2600 and a Vega 56? How much will prices drop with the Navi?

This general is for children.
